Pioneers of Television: Breaking Barriers KET2 Tuesday, April 29 • 8/7 pm KET Tuesday, May 6 • 9/8 pm Learn the story of people of color on American television — including the mid-1960s breakthroughs of African Americans Diahann Carroll (“Julia”) and Bill Cosby (“I Spy”). Latino landmarks range from “I Love Lucy” with Desi Arnaz to “Miami Vice” with Edward James Olmos. Also featured are Asian-Americans including George Takei (“Star Trek”), who details his youth spent in a Japanese internment camp.
Silk Road Ensemble with Yo-Yo Ma: Live from Tanglewood KET Friday, May 9 • 10/9 pm KET2 Wednesday, May 14 • 8/7 pm In the summer of 2012, the talented musicians of the Silk Road Ensemble came together and recorded this concert at Tanglewood in Western Massachusetts. The program also features behind-the-scenes moments and interviews.
