Automatic Conveyor Line at PMB First time in Pressure Cooker industry, with the significant development took place in last month with the installation of automated conveyor assembly line at PMB Enterprises, Faridabad. PMB Enterprises is major vendor for the pressure cooker and cookware category. With the salient features of the automated conveyor line with the total length of one hundred sixteen (116) meters.

DC Motor for Hand Blender

In association with Jonhson Motors, a Hong Kong based company having its manufacturing unit at China, Vendor Management team has got performance approval on Hand blender DC motor. In Bajaj. SKUs include Morphy Richards & KAP models Pronto, Pronto Dlx & HB-09 respectively. Initial order for 5000 Nos has been placed by Intertek Appliances.

DC motor will give efficient & silent performance and will improve overall quality of product.

9W RGGVY LED Bulb

Packaging solutions

RGGVY stands for Rajiv Gandhi Gram Vidyut Yojna, under which 9W lamps are promoted for electrification project in different states of India. Bajaj won the tender and in association with new vendor M/s Goel Lighting, Bajaj completed the first lot dispatches of close to 40,000 unit under this Government project. The orders were won both the segments of Lighting BU - Consumer Products division and Engineering & Projects division.

In line to improve upon the quality of packaging & standardization of color schemes, packing quality & finishes, Vendor Management team has taken initiative in identifying the best players in packaging industry and started its dialogues with the giants. Few of the top rated manufacturers in this category are Parksons, TCPL, Nebula, Borkars, MK Printpack, ITC etc. Bajaj team has jointly visited TCPL, MK Print & Borkars. Going forward, consolidation activity has been started.

Vendor Rationalization : Mixers In an initiative to implement the vendor rationalization. The vendor rationalizations is started with an vision kept in the mind of grow mutually with our vendors, giving more business to our big partners with better volumes and quality. As a major exercise of Vendor Rationalization at two of our mixer vendors Texplas & Omnia Appliances.

Texplas was supplying GX11, Typhoon and Hurricane-Easy mixer grinder. Similarly Omnia Appliance was supplying Elite, Tornado & GX-6. As a effort to complete vendor rationalization the following models have been shifted to the vendors like HAC, Parishram and VMG Appliances. The following tools and molds are transferred to the VMG Appliances.

It is expected to start production from mid-August.

New LED Bulb range - High Beam With the essence of having new look of LED Bulbs benchmarked with competition, VM team worked with Marketing to design a new category and planned to introduce High Beam led bulbs in our portfolio. This high beam led range shall be a 100 L/w and shall consist of 3W, 5W, 7W & 9W bulbs in beginning. A new vendor M/s Goel Lighting has been developed for this range.

New Paint Shop at Shrishti, Baddi As our liquid paint ceiling fan requirement is on increasing trend, new facility is set up at Shrishti, Baddi to take care of growing demand.

This is a modern conveyorized plant and having a capacity to paint 1000 sets of ceiling fans per shift.

DCN Implementation

As a part regular design & development changes in the new and existing products, we had initiated new approach for implementation purpose. Since from January-15 which had introduced DCN (Design Change Note) for our products. As of now more than 90% of DCN (Design Change Note) implementation.

And rest are in process and will be concluded very soon.

Vendor Agreement

New Artwork Packaging

From this financial year (2015-16) as a part of vendor management, we had started mandatory agreement from your vendors. In this following agreements various clauses are includes which are like child labour prohibition, exclusivity for products and related compliances. Till we have completed more than 50% of agreements with our vendors and expected to finish by end of Septemeber-15.

Currently product cartons are printed by multiple vendors across India by individual BU. It was really difficult to match colours, for every batch that got printed. Since cartons are printed by various printers and thus difficult to maintain consistency.

New Artwork packaging reduced use of special colours, standardize paper & carton quality. And also give clear cut visibility of Product Name, Image , Feature & Brand.

Parishram Crossed 30 K units First Time This month a major feat is achieved by Parishram Home Appliances with the production of 30,260 units. Since, mixer is one of fastest growing category and with a growth of approx. 20% Y-O-Y. Parishram Home appliances is currently supplying products like GX4, GX6, Easy and Trio.

Parishram Home Appliances consistently providing volumes and good quality. Parishram is further improving its manufacturing capacity and is expected to touch 40 K units in coming months.

HAC - Motor Manufacturing Capacity Increased HAC is our major vendor of Mixers Grinders has recently added new machines to increase the capacity of motor manufacturing from 50000 to 80000 Nos per month. All the machines are best in quality and imported from China. With this additional capacity of motor, HAC has added assembly lines to sync with mixer production capacity.

As motor was major constraint in improving mixer production capability, by adding these new machines, production at HAC is expected to increase to 60â&#x20AC;&#x201D;70 K in next two months.
