INTRODUCTION
ABOUT THECONFERENCE
The annual Conference on Oceans Law & Policy (COLP) promotes interdisciplinary interaction with ocean-related legal and public policy issues at all levels, addressing international, national, regional, and State concerns The COLP has developed current ocean-related topics of utmost importance to the international community through its latest edition The recent conferences have been; 46st Annual COLP on "Safe, Secure, and Sustainable Shipping" in Istanbul (2023), 45th Annual COLP on "UNCLOSat 40" in Vietnam (2022), and the the 44th Annual COLP on "Peaceful Maritime Engagement in East Asia and the Pacific Region" with Japan which was held online (2021)
This year, for 47th Annual Conference 2024, the U.S. Naval War College - Stockton Center for International Law, the World Maritime University - Sasakawa Global Ocean Institute (WMU-GOI), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru are delighted to announce the first COLP in Latin America It will be held in Lima, Peru and will focus on "Ocean Governance in the South Pacific and Latin America" With this, the conference seeks to honour the Latin American historical contribution to the law of the sea and ocean governance, while assessing current challenges and opportunities for the ocean by raising awareness, discuss, and exchange perspectives about the challenges and opportunities for the South Pacific Region

The Conference will begin on the evening of 17th September 2024 with a Welcome Reception at Torre Tagle Palace, and followed by the Academic Conference on 18-19 September at the prestigious Peruvian Naval Academy During these days the following topics are addressed:
