This portfolio contains a selection of works made during my five years at the Grenoble School of Architecture.

Erasmus Master Design Studio

Exhibit Design at Tor Marancia Project in pairs with Alicia Henry Located in Rome Municipio VIII, Italy, our refurbishment project for the Tor Marancia park aims to create a park that will be more open to its neighbourhood.

We designed this park as a setting around the tower, highlighting it and better affirming its presence within the neighbourhood while keeping the original appearance of the tower intact so as to create a dialogue between the past and the current architecture.

The design draws the shape of the park in a fluent, continuous and rhythmic folding language, which enriches and refines the

general design form and creates a new kind of public space.

The abundance of seating spaces, the small areas created by the various modules present in the park and the addition of a convenience store on the ground floor contribute to making this place a meeting point within the neighbourhood.

For the inside exhibit we wanted to show an architecture that is innovative and forward-looking but that doesn’t make a "clean sweep" of the past. We were looking to disturb the usual way of perceiving spatial configurations and create a contrast to highlight the two eras.

Plan overview of the project at street level This plan shows us how the project is organized at street level.

A small square has been built below the park to create a buffer between the dense traffic of the street and the pedestrian spaces of the park.

Access to the park overlooking the street can be done by a large staircase or by a ramp.

Since the Tor Marancia district lacks local shops, we wanted to integrate one into our project.

The semi-underground entrance leading to the park ramp also serves as an entry point to the commerce created and serves as well as an access to public sanitary.

Plan overview of the project at park level On this plan we can see the different spaces that make up the park.

The large stair offers direct access to the park from the square below.

The ramp allows access to bicycles, strollers and people with reduced mobility.

The different modules bring seating areas and vegetation to the park.

Only the back part of the park is wooded so as to offer shaded spaces while leaving an unobstructed view of the tower from the street.

The tower placed on a sort of promontory is now clearly visible and resumes its place as a monument within the district.

Lighting Concept We wanted to make the park attractive even at night, to achieve this goal different kind of lighting were used.

Each steps that make up the seatings of the four modules present in the park is lightened by a luminous strip which allows the visitor to sit here even at night.

The vegetation in the center of the modules is lightned by a diffused light coming from the top of the bushes.

This create a safe atmosphere around the sitting areas and by lightning the modules in this way it creates a sense of elevation of the structure.

The tower is lightened with lighting spots hidden at its bottom. Thanks to these now the tower can really be seen from the street even at night time.

By lighting it with the same intensity of light as the modules it creates a link between the ancient existing building and the new modern structures inside the park.

Finally the stairs are lightned thanks to lighting spots hidden under the handrails to safely allow the visitor to go up and down. In addition all this light creates a sense of invitation to use the stairs and to enter the park.

Inside Exhibit For the installation within of the tower we took our inspiration from the architectural style of deconstructivism that creates a "controlled chaos" and plays with shapes and volumes.

The function of the building is maintained but the envelope can be modified by a composition of unexpected or disconcerting forms.

The idea was to create a dialogue between the modernism and the existing heritage.

We wanted to show an architecture that is innovative and forward-looking but that doesn’t make a "clean sweep" of the past. The use of different materials creates a contrast between the materiality of the

tower and the one of the structure inside.

We’re looking to disturb the usual way of perceiving spatial configurations and create a contrast to highlight the two eras. Juxtaposition of opposing elements attracts the eye and makes an impression, it makes it possible to put them together and it brings a renewal to the existing, a mysterious, unexpected and disconcerting aspect.

That’s why both can function separately but the fact of bringing them together is made to strengthens their characteristics.

This to subtly highlight the existing and build a discreet dialogue between the past and the present.

Exhibit Lighting Concept In order to highlight our installation in the heart of the tower, we chose to use light for this purpose as a scenographic device.

Thus the intensity of the lighting varies as we rises in the building being more important at the top of the tower than at the bottom.

In this way, the progressive upward luminous effect thus created reinforces the project’s idea of mystery.

The colour of the lights can be controlled to produce different atmospheres.

In addition, this lighting coming from the top has the effect of projecting a pattern composed by the shadows of the structure of the installation on the ground of the tower.

Master Design Studio

Concert Hall Pavilion Group project Located in the forecourt of Grenoble’s concert hall, our pavilion project is inspired by the concept of the new ornamentation by using Grasshopper parametric scripts to design and optimize its formal appearance as well as its robotic assisted fabrication.

The formal dimension chosen brings together several features, in fact this pavilion can serve both scenically to shelter an artist during a performance, can serve as a place of passage within the public space but also it has a signposting dimension as a gathering point in front of this emblematic building of Grenoble city.

The project uses the concept of a digitalydesign and robotic manufacturing

architecture, both for its study phase and for its scale-one realization by directly exporting the constituent parts of the computer models to the digital manufacturing tools.

For the full-scale implementation, we preferred the use of composite materials, namely the use of Alucobond® for the realization of the 123 modules that make up the pavilion. This material has many advantages, it is both light, very durable and weather resistant and also quite easy to implement. The modules in contact with the ground were made of ultra-high performance fiber-reinforced concrete so as to keep the pavilion in place thanks to the heavy weight of the concrete.

After different test models and analysis we decided to choose the second shape for the following reasons : This shape allows more height under ceiling and reduces the footprint of the pavilion.

It creates a more intimate atmosphere less perforated.

The more vertical and less slender shape improves its structural stability.

It creates an oriented shape that will be more suitable for hosting an artist like a dj.

Master Design Studio

Student Housing Project of "La maison de l’Égypte" : university residence for Egyptian students and researchers, located within the international university campus of Paris in the 14th arrondissement.

Like the ancient Egyptian temples, the building affirms its presence and the culture that accompanies it with its monumentality. By its appearance at first sight imposing but nevertheless protective the mass envelops and shelters.

The openings on the façade create meeting spaces and exterior views that bring light within the building in addition to the central atrium, luminous heart within the mass.

Like traditional moucharabiehs, the aluminium fishnet helps to filter the light on the southern façade and provides a complement of privacy in its northern part.

Large balconies running the length of the facade punctuate the western part of the building according to their undulations while in the eastern part of the facade is gradually growing hollow thus creating outdoor spaces overlooking the ground floor garden.

The 201 units are organized around the common areas, giving these areas a privileged place in the centre of the building.

Bachelor Design Studio

Cement Plant Rehabilitation Cement plant site rehabilitation project in Voreppe, France.

The project consists in the construction of a hotel-restaurant in order to provide accommodation for the various activities that will be offered in the quarry site.

This project is part of a masterplan that aims to transform the abandoned cement plant quarry site into a multi-activities touristic site that will promote natural oriented activities.

The different shapes that we found in this project are inspired by patterns created by nature in order to reinforce the organic appearence of the building.

The choice of verticality imposed itself in a process of minimizing the impact on the ground of the construction.

The plot being surrounded by trees a few tens of meters high, it was therefore necessary to rise so that all the residents of the hotel could enjoy views of the surrounding mountains thanks to wide openings and multiple balconies all around the building.

The decision to place the dining room at the top of the building under a glass roof also stems from this reflection on the landscape so as to invite the visitor to take full advantage of the spatial quality offered by a high viewpoint.

In an environmentally friendly approach, natural light occupies a major place within the project indeed in the center of the building we find a wide well of light of 6m diameter serving as natural lighting for horizontal distribution spaces.

Bachelor Design Studio

Visitor and Seminar Center Visitor and seminar center project for Notre-Dame de Chalais Abbey’s site located near Voreppe, France.

In order to find the ideal place to implement my project, I focused on two senses that are sight and touch. According to these criteria, the most suitable location was located in the western part of the site at the level of a small hill. This place would allow to enjoy a beautiful perspective on the entire surrounding landscape while having a full south orientation which would allow a significant contribution of natural light in the building.

I wanted to settle directly in the hill by realizing a buried building, only open on its southern façade in order to enjoy natural light and the beautiful perspective on the surrounding mountains.

Access to the project would be via a footbridge rushing into the hill connecting the building to the road and thus creating the link between landscape and architecture.

The shape of the building, would be the result between the North-South orientation and the axis of the hill where the building is established thus creating a building with two orientations, to generate views of the landscape but also having the function of separating the different spaces of the program.

As for the exterior, a terrace and pools of water along the facades will be created, these will create a play of light by reflection of the sun on the water.

Disney Kids Initiative Communication project in partnership with Walt Disney Company.

The goal is to use Disney’s reputation with the general public by using it in a way that attracts public interest in noble causes. This aims to defend values and ideas dear to the philosophy that Disney advocates through its stories and characters.

The idea behind my communication campaign called "Disney Kids Initiative" is to educate the general public about the education of children around the world.

Indeed, all children in the world are not equal when it comes to education. In many countries some are forced into forced labour in order to support their families.

Education today is always a chance in many poor countries of the world, and we need to do everything we can to help these children and to ensure that the situation evolves in a positive way.

The ultimate goal of this campaign is to collect donations that will then be used to improve access to education for children around the world.

Based on this observation, I developed a visual identity for this campaign with two main ideas : clarity and visibility.

The logo I designed for the communication campaign has a special meaning.

It represents a lively child symbolized by a colorful K, the first letter of the word "Kids", prisoner of forced labour to whom education provides a solution to change his situation and get out of this prison.

The secondary logo uses the name of the communication campaign. It has an aesthetic directly inspired by that of the Avengers, a hit film by Disney studios Marvel, as a nod to the fact that together we can help create the next generation of superheroes.
