OVERVIEW There is a huge shortage of qualified animators for the media, technology and gaming sector in Ireland. This course attempts to address this shortage. Animators are artists who use old and new technology to produce animated films that stand alone or are for commercials, computer games, pop music videos and websites. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Leaving Certificate, LCVP, LCA or a Level 4. Mature students welcome. Access to this programme will be decided by a sample of the applicants art/craft work.

Graduates may progress to relevant Level 6 courses at Kerry College. Alternatively, graduates may progress to a range of Institute of Technology and University Certificate and Degree programmes. Graduates may aspire to work in the following roles: animation technician, visual effects animator, graphic designer, animation editor, flash animator, digital painter, storyboard artist. OVERVIEW This course is designed to introduce students to the extensive variety of practical techniques and theoretical knowledge that underpin the fundamental skills of a journalist. It will offer you an opportunity to learn modern skills in the areas of broadcast, print and online media. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Criteria for applicants applies: - Leaving Certificate, LCVP, LCA or a level 4 certificate or have reached the age of 18 - Mature student. If the above does not apply, you may be called for interview to secure a place on the programme.
