KDA is proud to commemorate our 10th anniversary by hosting MOVE, a celebratory event focused on highlighting our work to improve the quality of life for people living in California’s Central Valleys through the arts.
After ten years of impactful work and passionate volunteers putting our mission in motion, KDA embraces the opportunity to rise to the next level via a commemorative event where community partnerships will be celebrated and fundraising initiatives will take center stage.
KDA is a non-profit arts agency promoting and supporting dance and the arts in California’s Central Valleys.
For over a decade, KDA has been successful in elevating Central Valley communities through arts services and programs. By enhancing the ways people engage in arts and culture, KDA has strengthened our community by offering transformational programs that impact a variety of sectors, demographics, and geographies while promoting economic development and prosperity in the San Joaquin Valley.
KDA’s services and cross-sector arts programs teach educational endeavors like math and reading, assist with healthcare like aiding people with disabilities and improve quality of life, like uplifting the marginalized and underrepresented.
KDA proudly supports individual artists and arts organizations by providing capacity building initiatives to assist them in cultivating a thriving arts and culture community. Additionally, KDA works directly with cultural practitioners to respond to the needs of our communities by creating pathways to make the greatest impact through the arts.
KDA has served nearly 100,000 people , was awarded the 2024 Arts and Culture award at the Beautiful Bakersfield Awards, and has been recognized as an arts leader in the region.
KDA services provide social, emotional, physical, and financial support for the community while utilizing the arts to encourage learning, healthy living, understanding, and acceptance.
Through unique programs, KDA incites our community with passion, creativity, empowerment, and innovation.
KDA provides four pillars of service:
1. KDA COMMUNITY ALLIANCE circulates information about arts events, news, and advocacy.
2. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT provides artists, creative individuals, and arts administrators with critical tools to enhance their professional endeavors and business operations.
3. PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS allow the community to participate in professional programs and events.
4. SCHOLARSHIPS/GRANTS are provided to artists and arts organizations for capacity building and artistic growth.
