ALBERTA TRANSPORTATION DRIVER LICENSING

• Driver examinations, licenses and registration of vehicles is done exclusively through private registry agents. A list of agents can be found under License & Registry Services in the Yellow Pages. • Disabled Parking Permit/License Plate applications are available from registry agents. The application must be signed by a doctor. Parking permits are given to individuals rather than to vehicles. This means the permit can be transferred between vehicles and can be used only when the disabled person is in the vehicle. •• Medical examinations are required for all drivers at age 75. If there are no problems, the license is renewed for five years. Starting at age 80, medical examinations are required every two years.
