Editor’s note
Dear colleagues, Birthdays are a special time of year. They are important because they give everyone a day to feel special and see how much those around them love them.
They remind us that we’re growing older, but also symbolize how far we’ve come. When we celebrate someone’s birthday, we’re not only celebrating the length of their life, but we celebrate how much they’ve grown in the past year.
Earlier on this week, Kenyatta National Hospital board member Dr Stanley Kamau celebrated his 53rd birthday. And he chose to do it differently - by sharing gifts, from himself, family and friends with a number patients most of whom are privileged members of the society.
Dr Kamau also paid NHIF for six children admitted in Ward 1E. This is, indeed, a positive move that should not only be encouraged, but also emulated by many of us.
Remember the good book reminds us that whoever is kind to the poor, lends to the lord, and he will surely reward them for what they have done.
Have a beautiful day, wont you?
