On a quiet fall morning, watching the neighbors gather their papers (yes, a few still do that) and take out their dogs, it’s a good time for reflection on the accomplishments we’ve seen in 2018. Kentwood Real Estate is growing along with the state of Colorado. Case Shiller reported last month that Denver had YOY appreciation of 6%, among the highest in the nation. We don’t see any reason appreciation will slow much in 2019. It may cool a little, but Denver’s market will remain strong. Another real estate market to keep your eye on is in Fort Collins and northern Colorado. Fort Collins is growing faster than Denver, and I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the area several times in recent months. In October, we announced the formation of a new Kentwood Real Estate office in Fort Collins, Kentwood Northern Properties, at the corner of Harmony Road and Snow Mesa. Kentwood Agents Making Headlines Karen Brinckerhoff, with the Kentwood DTC office and Jim Rhye, with the Kentwood Cherry Creek office recently accomplished a record-setting Denver single-family home sale. The property, in Denver’s upscale Polo Club community, sold for $8 million. Kentwood RealtorsŽ Luisa Staerkel and Gina Lorenzen, with the DTC office, cooperated to sell a $7.5 million single-family home in prestigious Cherry Hills Village. Kentwood agent Martha Potter-Goldstein, with the Kentwood Cherry Creek office, represented the highest priced sale in the Denver Metro area in September with an equestrian-friendly property in Greenwood Village closing at $6.2 million.

Thomas and Rosanne are members of Wish For Wheels - a 501 (C) (3) nonprofit organization that gives the gift of a brand new bicycle and helmet to low income children (Grades K-2). Donating bikes from their closings gives them the opportunity to give back, and most importantly puts a whole lot of smiles on a whole lot of faces!

Rollie Jordan has been involved in many charities over the course of the last 30 years in Denver, such as National Jewish Hospital, Volunteers of America, Children’s Hospital, Kempe Foundation and many others. Most recently she was honored by Denver Health Foundation as their Volunteer of the Year “In appreciation for her dedicated service and many contributions”.

Roy, with the help of his two sons Jon & Jeff, manages The Don Miguel Charities and The Glery Ross Foundation, organizations that work to provide sustainability and economic selfsufficiency to a remote village in the Dominican Republic called Jagua Mocha. Roy also chairs the North High School Funding Advisory Group, creating sustainable funding platforms with the help of community and school leaders.

Jim has served on the Board of MakeA-Wish Foundation for 23 years. He has always had a soft spot in his heart for life-threatened kids, especially since his first-born son, Eric, unexpectedly fell into a deep coma when he was 11 months old, and remained in that coma until he died on Valentine’s Day 14 years later. Also, for 17 years he has served on the Board of CU Denver School of Business & is a frequent contributor to the Challenge Foundation.

Libby believes giving back is not only easy, it’s the right thing to do. As the mother of three...she is passionate for helping kids. For more than a decade she has supported CASA for abused and neglected kids. “I believe every kid deserves a fighting chance.” Other charities she supports include Global Down Syndrome, National Jewish and the Alzheimer’s Association (her mother was diagnosed three years ago).


Jenna has volunteered with Denver Kids, as a mentor, for the last four years. Denver Kids is an amazing organization pairing mentors with students, positioning them for success. Jenna and her student, Vanessa, enjoy doing anything artistic together, going to new movies, and cooking yummy things!

KENTWOOD CITY PROPERTIES Alex Neir with the Neir Team organized Givetoberfest that raised $5,850 directly benefiting a comprehensive support organization for Colorado kids called Impact360. Impact360 provides resources and opportunities for low-income kids from 6th grade to age 24, providing 13 consecutive years of help.

The IAC is the largest Israeli-American organization in the US, serving this vibrant sector of the Jewish American community.
