GOAL: Develop a video campaign announcing that select European KFC restaurants will be open during late night hours.

IDEA: Many things that happen late at night are not good, but KFC Late is.

SCENE: Open on the moon in the night sky above the treetops.

The camera drops down to street level where it lands on the hood of a moving car. Through the windshield we see the intense face of the driver. Wild eyes. A vein on his temple pulses.

The passenger-side rear window. On it, we see the reflection of passing streetlights. Through it, we see a bound and gagged man crumpled on the back seat. Fear in his eyes. He watches the seemingly endless procession of streetlights and listens to the hum of the road. An illuminated KFC sign flashes across the window.

Immediately, the victim begins to wildly thrash and scream through the duct tape across his mouth.

The screen goes dark and the squealing of tires is heard.

Interior of the KFC restaurant. The driver and victim, unbound, sit ravenously eating their chicken. They regard each other warily.*

Cut back to the rear passenger window.

Reflection of streetlights. The victim is bound and gagged, but his face is peaceful, satisfied. He is almost blissful.

As the car disappears into the darkness of the open road, the camera tilts back up to the moon.

The KFC logo appears.

*Alternate Ending: Under the table, the victim secretly brandishes a spork (spoon/fork utensil).

Cut back to the rear passenger window. Reflection of streetlights. The former driver is now bound in the backseat.

The former victim is driving.

As the car disappears into the darkness of the open road, the camera tilts back up to the moon.

The KFC logo appears.

“Locked Out” SONG: "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" by Doris Duke

SCENE: OPEN ON: The moon in the night sky.

The camera drops down to a car parking in front of a motel room. A woman and man excitedly get out and, kissing, unlock the room and enter.

CUT TO: Interior of motel room. The woman flirtatiously disengages from a handsy embrace and suggestively sashays to the bathroom.

Once she has disappeared, the man begins to hurriedly disrobe.

CUT TO: Exterior of motel room. A car alarm is blaring. Through the door bursts the man, wearing full BDSM gear and leather mask. His room door closes and locks behind him, at which point the elderly occupant of the next room opens her door, clicks a car key remote, and disables the alarm of the car in front of her room. She approvingly glances at the costumed man, playfully raises an eyebrow, and closes her door.

After trying the handle and banging on the door of his room, the man turns back to the parking lot and surveys the scene.

The camera pans with the man’s gaze to the neighboring KFC, which the man notices for the first time.

CUT TO: Interior of KFC restaurant. We see the man from the back. He is seated in front of a window and is still wearing the BDSM costume and mask. He eats from a bucket of chicken on the table.

The camera tilts up, and through the window we see the moon in the night sky, and text appears: “It’s never too late for KFC.” KendrielCreative.com
