ASIA Kenda was established in the countryside of Yuan-Lin, Taiwan in March of 1962 by Mr. Chi- Pao Yang, a former elementary school teacher and self-taught engineer with an entrepreneurial heart. Mr. Yang established early on, that the guiding principles the company would operate within, would be belief in Honesty, Quality, Service, and Innovation. In the last half century with all employees working within these principles, Kenda has grown to become a “World Class” company, globally recognized as one of the largest and most innovative tire manufacturers in the world. Kenda has grown its manufacturing footprint to include 10 manufacturing operations across Asia, including 2 manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, 5 manufacturing facilities in China, 2 manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, and 1 manufacturing facility in Indonesia. These manufacturing facilities employ over 10,000 employees, and manufacture over 800,000 tires/tubes each day for sale into multiple markets including the passenger car, auto spare tire, lawn and garden, trailer, RV, utility, agriculture, bicycle, motorcycle, all terrain, utility terrain, and wheelchair markets. Kenda’s manufacturing facilities are all ISO registered, operate maintaining the highest quality standards and consistency in materials used in its manufacturing processes, while utilizing lean technologies and efficient processes.
Kenda has put a significant focus on R & D technology, with investments in technical centers in both Taiwan and China. Each center is equipped with highly technical lab equipment, test equipment, polymer research equipment, computer design software, and a very skilled Engineering staff. Kenda consistently designs and builds the products to exceed the specification of the intended application. Kenda products are considered to be of the highest quality, and thus are well recognized and shipped worldwide, and in many markets are the standard others are measured against!
NORTH AMERICA Since Kenda established its North American office in 1989, its footprint has grown significantly, to include 12 operating facilities; including 3 steel wheel manufacturing facilities, 8 distribution/light-assembly facilities, and an R & D technical center. This expansive footprint gives Kenda the ability to service customers anywhere in North America timely, cost efficiently and without supply chain risk. Kenda’s investment in technology and equipment in North America is significant, including the latest press, stamping, weld, e-coat, paint technology utilizing sophisticated robotics, and lean manufacturing processes, but equally impressive are the Kenda employees who are very

EUROPE Kenda has a long history selling into the European market, first with bicycle product and now with an expanded product line including automotive products. This has led to a broad reach across the continent with many long-time distributors and original equipment customers. Kenda has further strengthened this presence with the establishment of a dedicated European sales office. Originally focused on bicycle sales, Kenda Europe has continued to grow it’s
operations with the inclusion of a dedicated automotive sales team. In addition to an increased sales presence, Kenda Europe is bringing more cohesiveness to the already strong brand reputation with the inclusion of European dedicated marketing staff. In 2016 engineering personnel were added and the planning and establishment of a Kenda European Technical Center, capable of research and design for the European market was initiated. Kenda’s footprint in Europe continues to expand across all product categories beyond bicycle, motorcycle and automotive. The recent acquisition of Denmark based company, “STARCO” has instantly provided platforms for the growth of Kenda in the entire European market. STARCO has operations in Denmark, United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Croatia, and sales offices in France and Estonia. Kenda will not only continue to grow its core business of tractor, trailer and other industrial vehicle business, Kenda will also utilize its distribution coverage to help grow business in other segments.

KVS: The Kenda Vector Shield is a coarsely woven layer of aramid laid up across the sidewalls of a tire to shield the tire from abrasions and slashes against rocks and other debris. Apex Bead: A 20mm tall stiff rubber insert mounted on the bead of the tire that stiffens the sidewall for increased ride performance and reduces chances for pinch flats.

STARCO has been a pioneering force in the tire and wheel industry for more than 55 years. Today, 550 STARCOnians make up a great team bound by a passion to develop, manufacture and deliver wheel solutions. STARCO’s specialty is low and high volume standard and custom complete wheels for a wide range of applications – from the smallest wheelbarrow or trailer, to large agricultural or industrial machines. Being headquartered in Denmark and having factories in the UK, Croatia and China, as well as eight sales and distribution locations across Europe, STARCO offers a widespread distribution network to its customers.
STARCO partners with manufacturers of various applications – for instance compact tractors, dumpers, ride-on-mowers and tool carriers. The company serves the replacement market where it supports the OEM-business, and partners with national distributors mainly to market special made-to-measure wheels and dual wheel systems. RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT STARCO’s unique insight into the use of applications combined with tire and wheel performance gives their customers a strong development partner. STARCO’s engineering expertise covers the entire tire and wheel solution – including the tire, tubes, valves and any other component around the solution, such as caps and axles. The majority of STARCO’s technical team is located in Rugeley, England. Besides running extensive field test with customers, STARCO uses the cornering fatigue test machine to validate wheels up to 50”, the wheel dynamometer to run burst test as well as leakage testing. To ensure a close link between design, development and manufacturing, STARCO has a special engineering team based at the Croatian steel wheel factory. The team in Croatia is specialized in made-to-measure wheels, dual wheels and technical product documentation. Besides being a material and mould expert, the STARCO DML team has a very close collaboration with the steel wheel factory in Croatia. Together they are able to generate component designs incorporating tool making and polymer processing expertise with their steel wheel manufacturing capability.
