A Rancher's Rendezvous 2.0 Bull & Female Sale

What a great time to be in the cattle business. Cow/calf ranchers are earning record high prices, enjoying amazing profitability, and both are forecasted to stay for a good while. Now is a great time to invest in better genetics that produce “COWS THAT STAY and STEERS THAT PAY” to continue improving your profits.

COMING SOON: More value for your calves Sustainable Beef LLC is a new beef packing company in North Platte, NE that will open this spring with Walmart as a major stakeholder (Walmart and Sam's Club collectively rank as one of the largest beef retailers.) This venture will revolutionize the Angus beef market by packaging and selling both red and black Angus as Angus beef. USDA considers Red Angus cattle eligible to be sold in all Angus beef programs. For the past four years, we have been working with several other top seedstock producers to develop a supply chain that is sure to earn more value for our customers’ calves. We will be focusing on high quality Angus beef from both colors of Angus with a sustainability story. Our SimAngus genetics fit too if the calves are at least half Angus. In our pursuit to do more with less, we have been feed efficiency testing for 10 years and will use the data proven metrics of Feed to Gain (F:G) and FERTility to validate the enhanced sustainability of our customers’ calves.

$PROFIT: Ten years ago, we added more tools to our toolbox when we started using the $Profit database. $Profit is growing rapidly with more data, more DNA, more accuracy, and additional traits. They stay on the cutting edge with new and improved techniques and technology to most accurately describe the genetic differences impacting your profitability the most. This year the carcass EPDs in this catalog for the Red Angus bulls, Black Red Angus Bulls and SimAngus bulls are from the $Profit database. We chose to use the $Profit data because of the recent addition of 20,000 actual carcass records. Even more impressive is that those animals were DNA tested and therefore it greatly improves the accuracy of the EPDs of all our cattle because they are DNA/genomically tested. This more than doubled the amount of actual carcass data in the evaluation and therefore increased the accuracy of these EPDs significantly. The Red Angus Association has had lots of ultrasound data submitted over the past 5 years, but not much actual carcass data. This huge amount of new actual carcass data was on modern genetics being used in the industry today, making the $Profit carcass metrics arguably the most relevant and accurate for these cattle.

SHARING OUR SECRET EPD TARGETS

For over 30 years I have been color-coding EPD spreadsheets as a tool to better identify and select the cattle that do the most things right. In the past year I have shared my secrets of success and EPD targets with audiences while speaking at the TSCRA and National Cattlemen’s Conventions. Go to our website and you can see these color-coded spreadsheets for every animal in our catalog. You can look at 3 different EPD targets: 1) for calving ease, 2) All Purpose / Maternal and 3) Terminal where all calves are sold on a value-based grid. Take a look, I think you will like it.

SALE DAY VETERINARIAN:

HEALTH: 1) To insure that our cattle are healthy and to provide you with healthy cattle, we have a strict vaccination, herd health and biosecurity protocol. 2) All cattle have been VACCINATED to prevent Blackleg, IBR, PI3, BVD, BRSV, Vibrio, Lepto and Pinkeye. 3) All bulls in this catalog are CERTIFIED AS VIRGINS unless otherwised marked. 4) INTERSTATE HEALTH PAPERS will be provided for animals going to states that only require the specifications listed above. Any additional testing (i.e. Brucellosis or TB) will begin after the sale and those interstate health papers will be ready after all testing is completed. If you plan to haul your own cattle after the sale across the state line, please check with your state veterinarian to make sure your state will receive cattle from us without additional testing.

FERTILITY

GUARANTEE: All bulls and females are guaranteed breeders as described in the “Terms & Conditions” at the back of this catalog. All of these bulls passed a breeding soundness exam (BSE) by one of our Veterinarians. None of us can afford a bull not doing his job. Bulls can become temporarily infertile due to fever, excessive heat, injury, diet (whole cottonseed or poor diet), etc. We have experienced this with bulls we purchased with breeding soundness exams and took for granted that they were still ready to breed cows. We recommend that you fertility test all your bulls 30 days prior to each breeding season every year. If you find a bull infertile prior to or during his first 60 days with cows, please contact us immediately. After a second failed test, at least two weeks after the first, we will replace the bull or give you credit, according to the “Terms & Conditions” in the back of this catalog. Getting your cows pregnant is a high priority for us.

DELIVERY of BULLS and FEMALES: Please see the detailed information on our Delivery Service, pages 12-13.

INSURANCE: Mortality Insurance will be available for purchase on sale day from Ag Defense Risk Management / Shari Holloway .

FUTURE CARE: We appreciate your investment in R.A. Brown Ranch genetics and want to make some recommendations to help you protect your investment. These bulls are ready to go straight in with your cows; however, the stress of the sale, hauling, and relocating these animals can weaken their immune system; therefore, we recommend that you check them daily for a couple of weeks. If you don’t put your bull in with cows right away, we recommend that you put your bull with another animal so that he is not by himself. Cattle are herd instinct animals and feel more comfortable with a friend. If you plan to mix your new purchase with other bulls, we recommend that you do not do it in a small pen, but rather the larger the pasture the better so that they have room to get away from each other. If you have to mix bulls, it is better to mix several at one time that have not been together, than to just put one or 2 into a large group. We recommend vaccinating for Vibrio/Lepto and fertility testing your bulls 30 days prior to the breeding season each year. 18 month old bulls can be used very effectively when turned out with one cow per month of age (18 months - breed 18 females). Remember they are still growing and losing their baby teeth so they may need some extra care after their first breeding season.

BUYING OPTIONS: BUYING OPTIONS: Obviously we prefer for you to be with us on sale day but, if you are unable to make it you have three options: 1. Log on to DV Auction & bid on the internet (see info at top of next page). 2. Personalized Bull Shopper. We will be glad to find you the bulls you need, within your budget. To utilize this option, like about many of our long-time customers, please call Donnell Brown as soon as possible so that we can discuss how we can help you. 3. Customer Service Representatives. These men will be here and have studied the bulls. They can also put their eyes on specific cattle for you.

MORE INFORMATION: We want you to have all of the info you need to make the best decisions. To view more information, you can visit our website at www.RABrownRanch.com to sort the animals and/or view their data in spreadsheet form. Also, we have included registration numbers on the registered animals so that you can look them up on the internet. If you want more information about these bulls and/or females than what is in this catalog or on the web, please call and ask prior to Sale Day. In an effort to simplify the process, we have included the information in this catalog that we believe to be the most useful tools in describing genetic merit of each animal for economically relevant traits. To contact Donnell or Kelli Brown, you may call the ranch at 940849-0611 or email us at kelli@rabrownranch.com.

Breeding Soundness Exam

Our exclusive Star Rating System is designed to help summarize all of the data and simplify your selection process. It takes into account all information available, along with some “cowboy common sense” to rate each bull for the 5 most economically relevant traits: Calving Ease, Growth, Carcass, Cow Herd and Efficiency. These ratings are consistent throughout the catalog so that you can compare all bulls across breeds. EPDs and Indexes are the most precise tools for selection within a breed and now can be used to compare Red Angus, Black Red Angus & SimAngus, however, EPDs are not comparable across all breeds yet. Angus are different.

The more stars a bull has, the better he is for that trait. Each bull is rated from 0 to 5 stars in each trait. Our Five-Star

Rrating is the same as it has been in the past and designates elite bulls in each category. For Growth, Carcass, Cow Herd & Efficiency, a bull has to be in the top half of the industry to even get 1 star. A Five-Star rating is only given to the cream of the crop, the most ultimate. Others have tried to emulate our system, but most imitations simply use some stars as a marketing tool to help them sell what they have rather then helping you buy what you need.

Use the individual EPDs and their respective percentile ranks to most accurately determine which bulls can help you best meet your specific needs. For example when looking at the Growth Rating, if you sell your calves at weaning time then you should look more specifically at WW EPD. For Carcass, if you need more quality grade then put more emphasis on Marbling EPD.

You may notice that our Calving Ease ratings are much more conservative than what many breeders and breed associations may recommend for use on heifers. We believe it is better to be safe than sorry. This doesn’t mean that you never have to assist one at calving, because sometimes calves are born backwards or have a leg turned back. Even the best and most proven Calving Ease sires in the industry will get a

Ratings etained Interest in Bulls

OWNERSHIP - We are selling full possession, full salvage value and 1/2 revenue-sharing semen interest in every bull in this sale. This means the bull is totally in your control in how you want to handle him plus you get 100% of the salvage value of the bull. We are retaining 1/2 revenue-sharing semen interest in every bull in this sale. This simply gives us the right to half of the semen sales revenue from the bull if at some time in the future, semen sales become a reality.

If you choose to sell the bull to anyone else, R.A. Brown Ranch (and Cooperators) retain our semen interest in the bull. If you wish to buy a bull in this sale and would prefer that we did not retain a semen interest, then please talk with us about it prior to the sale and we will consider selling the bull(s) to you without us retaining an interest and make that agreement in writing prior to the sale. The buyer may elect to purchase as much additional semen interest as you desire by paying the additional pro-rated amount. For example you can purchase 2/3 or 3/4 semen interest by paying an additional 33% or 50% of the final bid price respectively.

If a buyer is not interested in marketing the semen from a bull then R.A. Brown Ranch reserves the right to collect a semen bank on the bull at our cost and the buyer’s convenience. That semen would be 100% owned by the R.A. Brown Ranch for our use or marketing.

EXCLUSIVE SEMEN MARKETING RIGHTS - The buyer may elect to purchase exclusive semen marketing rights on any bull in this sale by paying double the final bid price on the bull at the time of the sale. In the event that the buyer elects to purchase exclusive semen

big calf every once in a while. Our goal is to help eliminate calving difficulty to the best of our ability and therefore help you manage risk.

COMPLETE Stars is a new category that we implemented this year to help identify the bulls that do the most things right for all economically relevant traits. The more stars in this category means they are the MVP- Most Valuable Producer. We calculate this star category with a formula that combines all other star categories plus all of the selection indexes like $Profit, $Ranch, $Combined, API, TI, GM etc. It could also be called All-Purpose, Comprehensive or Total Merit.

Our Cow Herd stars are designed to help you select bulls that will produce better replacement females that are easier keeping, medium to smaller sized and have a medium milk production with better fertility and Stayability. Research and experience tell us that these females are more likely to stay producing calves in your herd for many years and therefore improve your profitability.

This Star Rating System is simply a tool to help you quickly find the bulls that fit your needs. Then you can take more time studying the details to find the bulls that best fit your more specific needs.

marketing rights, then R.A. Brown Ranch retains the right of first refusal on the purchase of natural service rights of the bull if the original buyer decides to sell the natural service rights and or possession of the bull anytime during his lifetime.

REALISTICALLY SPEAKING - It is unlikely that large amounts of semen will be sold from very many bulls. However, the reason we are keeping an interest in every bull, is that we want to keep it simple and we have great bulls scattered throughout the sale. The bulls that do develop a market for large amounts of semen can be very financially rewarding; therefore, as a breeder of some of the best seedstock in the industry, we want to share with you in these bulls. Even bulls sold to commercial herds may become popular at a later time, especially if carcass data is collected on their calves. We want to be a great partner with you.

SEMEN RIGHTS - Buyers receive semen rights proportional to the interest purchased. Therefore if you purchase a 1/2 revenue-sharing semen interest then you are entitled to 1/2 of the semen collections at cost provided that you indicate that you want semen prior to collection. If you choose to collect semen from one of these bulls as an “insurance policy” for your own use, that semen is 100% yours, but before any semen is collected on any bull in this sale, R. A Brown Ranch must be notified.

sale). Starting at noon Saturday there will be a charge of $6/head/ day for all remaining animals that were to be picked up by the buyer. There will be no charge for feed and care of animals that are designated for us to deliver when you check out unless the delivery is delayed for any reason by the buyer. We can have Interstate Health Certificates for all animals that are going to states that accept cattle without additional testing. However, if your state requires additional testing like TB or Brucellosis, then that will be done the week after the sale and we can provide Interstate Health Certificates as soon as vet has all of the requirements met including permits from the buyer’s state.

TAKING DELIVERY ON COMMERCIAL FEMALES

All commercial females sell FOB the ranch they sell from as described in the catalog. The buyer is to coordinate directly with the seller of the heifers to coordinate picking up the heifers.

PREFERRED DELIVERY POINTS

The destinations on the chart have been selected as “Preferred Delivery Points.” Please select the two delivery points that are most convenient for you. Drop points may be adjusted after the sale time depending on the location and purchases of each buyer. Please keep in mind that this is a guide for “Preferred Delivery Points,” not guaranteed delivery points. We will be glad to calculate the cost to additional delivery points after the sale. Please give us your home, office and mobile phone numbers so that we can contact you (and anyone else that may be involved in receiving your cattle) in regard to the delivery of your cattle.

We get by with a little help from our neighbors.

Thank you!

“From

initial concept to completion, we design and manufacture with your needs at the center of every step.”

We are fortunate to have some of the most astute cattlemen as a part of this team. You will see that each lot in the sale shows which herd they originated in.

These cattle follow the same genetic plan that ours do. They have very high targets to meet to be considered for the program including weight per day of age, optimum epds, health protocol, verified parentage, genomically enhanced, structure standards, no creep feed and most importantly, integrity in the data.

The cooperator bulls are born and raised at their respective ranches and then delivered to Throckmorton after being weaned at least 45 days. Once here they are co-mingled,

branded, and developed for at least eight months. Under our care, they are evaluated multiple times for feet and leg structure and disposition. They are developed right along side our own and treated as such. We take all of the yearling measurements including ultrasound, yearling weight, yearling height, scrotal measurements, and most of them are feed efficiency tested. Finally, they must pass a fertility test to be included in the sale day offering.

Simply put, buy with confidence. Together we are proud to offer bulls that have not only met the highest standards but come to you with one goal in mind....to make you, our customer, more profit.

Plus, he does it with super soundness, fleshing ability, thickness, capacity, docility and eye appeal. His pedigree is loaded with proven families yet outcross to so many that need the excellence he has.

Much like lot 1, this bull has a beautiful combination of $M, $B & $C combined with strong Heifer Pregnancy of 17.8 (top 10%), as well as breed leading growth & carcass traits. We strive to produce cattle that do all things well and therefore make you more money. We are adding value to our customers’ calves through a supply chain we have been building for the past four years. More details to come.

Take a look at the breed leading calving ease and carcass combination. We started using the $Profit database a decade ago to give us more tools for more accurate genetic selection. This includes new traits like FERTility and F:G Feed Efficiency, the All Purpose Index of $Profit and the Maternal Index, $ Ranch and this bull ranks near the top of the breed for all of these new metrics.

keeping kind.

Take a look at this bigger framed, stout made, long bodied beast that will produce cattle that are designed to improve your profitability with more growth and carcass traits combined with industry leading feed efficiency that is validated through our ongoing feed efficiency testing program that we started a decade ago. We see a bright future for more sustainable Angus that do more with less like this

Notice our star rating system that so effectively summarizes all the science and mountain of information into the 5 categories that best describe the most economically relevant traits. Each bull earns from 0 to 5 stars (with 5 being the best) for Calving Ease, Growth, Carcass & Cowherd (or maternal) traits as well as an overall Complete score. Notice this bull scores very well for growth, carcass & making great replacement females including top 5% for Heifer Preg.

Functional Longevity is coming soon and with that additional information will be added to $M & $C for the most

relevant traits associated with Fertility & Longevity. Cattle like this that excel for the FERTility trait in the $Profit database tell us they excel for those traits. We lover our High Security offspring because they make COWS THAT STAY & STEERS THAT PAY. Watch for coming details on our supply chain to bring more value to our customers’ calves.

This bull fits our mantra of “COWS THAT STAY & STEERS THAT PAY.” Notice how he ranks among the very best for Marbling, $M, $Profit, $Ranch, $Feeder, FERTility, Feed Efficiency (F:G), & Docility. We used this bull in our family’s cowherd this past year because of his combination of multi-trait genetic excellence with amazing power, depth and eye appeal. Our data shows bulls like this make you more money and will produce the most profitable offspring.

The Angus breed is the leader for feedlot growth and marbling, but we need to bring those great cowherd traits back to the breed and this bull can do it. Swagger is a bull we have been using for 2 years in our program because of his outstanding FERTility (top 1%), Marbling, $Profit, $Ranch and Feeder index along with $B & $C in a massively thick, deep bodied, long made easy keeping body type. Selling bull possession, full salvage value and in herd semen use.

Here is the highest marbling bull in our sale who also has excellent growth, Feed Efficiency (both Feed:Gain & RADG). Big time $B of $236 & $C of 366 both ranking better than 98% of all other Angus bulls in the Angus Breed. This is another bull we used on our family’s cows. This bull is fine in the herd but can be more easily excited when sorted off by himself.

traits in sortable spreadsheets on our website RABrownRanch.com.

Much more than just a “sleep all night” calving ease bull, this good-looking rascal also comes with excellent, growth, carcass and cowherd traits (high FERTility) to make great replacement females. They come in a more conservative size that stay in better body condition on pasture and breed up better without costly extra feed supplementation.

Yes, you can have it all. 1) great feet (top 4% for claw/foot shape), RADG, growth, carcass & long with top 3% Heifer Pregnancy and conservative mature size that produces more with less feed needs & less cost. Take a look at his rankings for $M, $B at 196 (top 15%) & $C. Earn more profit with Cows that Stay & Steers that Pay.

HeadStart semen is rare and we are thankful to have an excellent set of his sons in this sale because of their multi-trait excellence. We love cattle like this that rank high for $M, $B (top 5%) and $C combined with breed leading growth and outstanding claw shape and carcass values.

Black Red Angus

This may be the best bull in the entire sale and perhaps one of the best we have ever sold. I remember the day he was born, and I knew he was special. His mother’s teat and udder quality was phenomenal and remains the best I have ever seen. Put Locked and Loaded’s EPDs into the RAAA search engine and you will find that he is the only animal in the entire database that can match his combination of industry leading Calving Ease, light Birth Weight, Marbling and muscle. In addition, he has excellent growth, Heifer Pregnancy, Stay and ProS. 0.0% Rank describes EPDs that are in the most elite top 0.04% or better. This bull has 5 traits in this league. Notice his top 2% FERTility combined with industry leading $Profit, $Ranch & $Feeder combined with is outstanding phenotype and then it starts to become clear how unique and special he really is. Go to our website & watch his video and you will be even more impressed. Locked & Loaded fits perfectly into the industry trend towards value determination of feeder cattle based on genetics regardless of color. Sustainable Beef LLC is a new packing company in North Platte, NE that will open in the spring of 2025 with Walmart as a major stakeholder (Walmart and Sam’s Club collectively rank as one of the largest beef retailers.) This venture will revolutionize the Angus beef market by packaging and selling both red and black Angus as Angus beef. USDA considers Red Angus cattle eligible to be sold in all Angus beef programs.

We began blending the best of both colors of Angus together 28 years ago with the focus of making the most superior Red Angus genetics possible. These efforts have proven to be successful with the majority of the most used sires in the Red Angus breed over the past 3 years, contain a black animal in their 3-generation pedigree. Even more exciting is that the American Angus Association modified their rules making it possible to use Black Red Angus

bulls like this on registered Angus cows & every calf that DNA tests homozygous black can be registered in the American Angus Association. This is an exciting way to blend the outstanding maternal strength, thickness and fleshing ability of the Red Angus breed with the industry leading growth and carcass of black Angus. When bred to Red Angus cows - 50% of his offspring will be red. When breeding Black Red Angus bulls to registered Angus cows, 50% of them will be homozygous black and registrable with the American Angus Association. If you breed him to commercial Angus cows that don’t have a red gene, 100% of the calves should be black and eligible for Certified Angus Beef, CAB. If you love cattle that make you money, then you should buy this bull.

Please note that the carcass EPDs for the Black Red Angus bulls, the Red Angus Bulls and the SimAngus bulls are from the $Profit database. We chose to use the $Profit data because they recently added 20,000 actual carcass records along with DNA on those animals. This more than doubled the amount of actual carcass data in the evaluation and therefore increased the accuracy of those EPDs significantly. The Red Angus Association has had lots of ultrasound data submitted over the past 5 years, but not much actual carcass data. This huge amount of new actual carcass data was on modern genetics being used in the industry today, making the $Profit carcass metrics arguably the most relevant and accurate for these cattle. However, you can go to our website and download our sortable spreadsheets that include the carcass EPDs from both associations. You will see that Locked & Loaded ranks in the top 1% for Marbling at RAAA as well. Come to the sale fully prepared to see Locked & Loaded ready to become an industry changer. The only question left to answer is: will you own him or will you have to compete against him?

Black Red Angus

I developed our star rating system decades ago to help summarize the science and the mountain of information into an easy-to-use scale of 0 to 5 with 5 being the best for the most economically relevant traits. These stars are comparable across breed; therefore, a bull like this that earned 5 stars for Carcass is at the same level of excellence for all carcass traits as all other bulls that earned 5 stars for carcass, regardless of breed. BROWN RHCS FRAN OF G L7061 SPUR FRANCHISE OF

Full brother to the bull above. We started using $Profit about a decade ago and we are so glad we did because it gives us more tools in our toolbox to select and produce the best genetics. The $Profit numbers are directly comparable across all breeds, however their % Rank is specific to their breed. Black Red Angus % Ranks are comparable to Red Angus.

More than just a calving ease bull, this bull does a multitude of things very well. Look at all the stars he earned across all traits. He is a deep-bodied, thick made, easy keeping bull earned with an amazing combination of FERTility, and all the Selection $Profit indexes as well as Gridmaster & ProS.

This is one of the highest growth and carcass bulls in the entire sale. He also comes along with added maternal strength and FERTility to make great replacement females.

Take a look at the amazing, multi-trait genetic excellence of this

Here is a bull that we used on our own family’s cows because of his amazing combination of being the highest growth bull of all the Black Red Angus and yet conservative in his size. We also love his carcass value, efficiency and all his $Profit metrics. Let his year of healthy experience work to your advantage. All bulls in this sale virgin or not have been trich tested & are ready to go to work.

You are sure to like this deep-bodied, thick made easy keeping efficiency specialist with outstanding carcass value and strong cowherd traits.

Over the past 28 years we have continued to see more and more customers use these Black Red Angus bulls interchangeably with Black Angus bulls. When bred to black cows that don’t have a red gene, all their offspring are eligible for Certified Angus Beef and other Angus beef premium programs.

size, strong FERTility, sound feet and excellent feed efficiency (F:G).

This is one of the highest $Profit bulls in the sale that excels in calving ease, carcass traits & cowherd traits. Bulls like this improve your profits by reducing your cost of production with cattle that eat less. We have been testing cattle for feed intake and feed efficiency for a decade and have learned that bulls like this with added fertility and cost less to produce can improve your profits more than the ultra high growth cattle that eat you out of house & home.

Look at all the stars this bull earns with his multi-trait superiority. This is the

We need to grow the nation’s cowherd with highly fertile heifers. Use this bull to breed heifers with his 5-Star Calving Ease and he will also produce conservative sized females with added fertility and carcass value.

Angus cows have become the largest mature size and high appetite breed in the industry. If you want more practically sized females that cost less to produce, fit your environment better, still produce Prime beef with added flavor and value; then you need bulls like this.

Black Red Angus

Here we go back into the Black Angus bulls that are registered in a different Angus Association. They have all the calving ease, growth & carcass superiority we love with added FERTility and maternal strength to make better cows that fit your environment better and therefore improve your profitability as a cow/calf producer. This is the highest FERTility & $Ranch bull in the entire sale and we continue on with this string of super calving ease bulls that have so much more.

Check out this 4-Star calving ease bull that also earns 5-Stars for growth and carcass. Remember a bull is an investment, not a cost. Invest in bulls like this with enhanced fertility to improve your profitability and sustainability in the cattle business.

CONSISTENCY, CONSISTENCY. This bull earned the same stars as the bull

This is one of the most feed efficient bulls in the sale that also combines excellent calving ease growth and carcass traits. In a deep bodied, thick made easy keeping package.

Ultimate Calving Ease and he earned the 2nd most total stars across all traits of any Angus or Black Red Angus bull in the sale.

Look at the ultra-high FERTility and $Ranch in this bull. $Ranch identifies the bulls that make the most money for ranchers who keep their own replacement females and sell their calves at weaning or as pre-conditioned weaned calves. If you need a bull to keep heifers & also want to improve your profits, then you should look at this bull.

What traits impact profitability & sustainability on your ranch the most. Experts continue to say it is traits that make you the most money are Fertility, Efficiency and in today’s market, superior Marbling. We have added tools from the $Profit system to help us best measure these traits of economic importance in addition to the traits measured by the association.

Our #1 goal is to improve your profitability and sustainability through our genetics and our services. These bulls have the right genetics, and we are soon to announce a supply chain that we have been building for the past 4 years to help you get paid more for your cattle. This bull leads into a group of bulls that excel for Prime producing pounds in the right package.

Oh wow. Look at this super feed efficiency specialist with amazing growth and carcass traits. He is a full brother to the October 2024 high seller, Brown JR Top Gun, that has semen available on page 126.

Here we are about halfway through the Black Angus bulls. This is usually the time that people who came only looking to buy Angus bulls begin to realize that the Black Red Angus bulls will work great for them too. We like them both and are working to produce as many bulls as we can that make you the most money. You have been selling your calves at record high prices. Now is the time to invest some of those profits in genetics that make you more money.

Black Red Angus

We continue with high growth bulls with strong carcass value. They are black and they are Angus, they just happen to be

with a different Angus Association and your cows will never know the difference.

This may be one of the deepest, thickest and easiest keeping bulls in the sale. He starts with 5-Star Growth and Carcass traits to make you more money with his offspring.

Here is one of the high growth bulls in the entire sale. I love the Confidence Plus sons and daughters. True to form, this one is deep thick, easy keeping and really attractive in a conservative size.

Customer Appreciation

Commercial Bred Heifer Sale

Wednesday, March12, 2025

Customers’ Best

Our customers represent a healthy mix of some of elite ranching operations across the southern plains as well as the beef industry’s rising generation of superstar cowmen and cattlewomen. They share a common appreciation for profitable beef genetics. Through the front-end bulls they purchase, and the balanced-trait calving ease sires they use A.I., these ranchers have developed some of the most sought after, ranch-ready replacement females in the industry. In Ranchers’ Rendezvous 2.0 they will share those front-end females.

How the Commercial Heifer Sale will work:

• Consignments will all be videoed prior to the sale and will be available at RABrownRanch.com along with the bull videos.

• Larger groups of heifers will be sold in “gate-cut” of approximately 10 head. The successful bidder will have the option of taking any/all consecutive 10 head sorts from the same lot and at the same bid price.

• The following pages contain general descriptions of each ranch’s entire consignment as well as delivery information. Our Sale Day Supplement will have any updated palpation/ultrasound information and how that impacts the exact head count for each lot.

• The Commercial heifer lots represented in this catalog will be sold FOB their respective consignor’s ranch.

• The Commercal heifer lots will sell after the black bulls and prior to the red bulls.

Breeding Guarantee: All commercial females identified as “Bred” have been determined pregnant by a competent ultrasound or palpation technician. If prior to May 1, 2025 it is determined (by competent palpation/ultrasound technician) that one of the commercial females you purchased in this sale is not pregnant, then please call us and you will be reimbursed (by the seller ) the difference between her purchase price and the salvage value you receive for her.

t is a beautiful thing when the best-looking bull also has the best data. Put Chairman’s EPDs into the RAAA search engine and you will find that he is the only animal in the entire database that can match his multi-trait excellence. Go to our website & watch his video and you will be even more impressed. Chairman fits perfectly into the industry trend towards value determination of feeder cattle based on genetics regardless of color. Sustainable Beef LLC is a new packing company in North Platte, NE that will open in the spring of 2025 with Walmart as a major stakeholder (Walmart and Sam's Club collectively rank as one of the largest beef retailers.) This venture will revolutionize the Angus beef market by packaging and selling both red and black Angus as Angus beef. USDA considers Red Angus cattle eligible to be sold in all Angus beef programs. For the past four years, we have been working with several other top seedstock producers to develop a supply that is sure to bring more value to our customers’ calves. We will be focusing on high quality Angus beef from both colors of Angus with a sustainability story. In our pursuit to do more with less, we have been feed efficiency testing for 10 years and will use the data proven metrics of F:G and FERTility to validate the enhanced sustainability of our genetics. Chairman ranks high for both traits and has the full genetic profile to improve your profitability and sustainability. Chairman comes with tremendous outcross mating flexibility with 5 black animals in his 3-generation pedigree. With the focus of making the most superior Red Angus genetics possible, we began blending the best

Red Angus

of both colors of Angus together 28 years ago. These efforts have proven to be successful with the majority of the most used sires in the Red Angus breed over the past 3 years, containing a black animal in their 3-generation pedigree. This is an exciting way to blend the outstanding maternal strength, thickness and fleshing ability of the Red Angus breed with the industry leading growth and carcass of black Angus.

Please note that the carcass EPDs for the Red Angus bulls, the Black Red Angus Bulls and the SimAngus bulls are from the $Profit database. We chose to use the $Profit data because they recently added 20,000 actual carcass records along with DNA on those animals. However, you can go to our website and download our sortable spreadsheets that include the carcass EPDs from both databases. You will see Chairman ranks in the top 1% to 3% for Carcass Weight, Marbling, and Ribeye Area in RAAA as well.

This bull has it all and perfectly fits our mantra: COWS THAT STAY & STEERS THAT PAY. He is the only animal of any breed in the entire ASA & IGS Database that can match his EPD profile. Plus, he has amazing eye appeal, great feet, powerful growth and super feed efficiency that he earned after going through our feed efficiency test. We believe he will be a major breed impact sire.

If you like great looking cattle with amazing carcass value and top 10% for Average Daily gain, then you will love this bull. His marbling and ribeye stats rank in the top 1% to 3% in both the ASA & $Profit databases. Buy this bull to increase your profits with more Prime premiums. He has multi-trait excellence. Look at all the stars he earns for all traits.

Check out this 5-Star calving ease bull that also has excellent growth and cowherd traits plus top 1% Marbling. We included the carcass EPDs from the $Profit database because it just added 20,000 actual carcass records, most of which also had DNA to make the evaluation even more accurate. Download our spreadsheet with all ASA & $P EPDs from RABrownRanch.com to sort the data & see our color code system.

One of the hardest decisions will be which of these full brothers in blood to choose. You probably should just buy them both. Both are safe to use on heifers and will earn you more money for marbling premiums. This bull ranks high for growth. He is the front pasture kind that will stop traffic in their tracks. It is exciting to see that more and more people are using our star rating system that helps simplify all the data to quickly describe the strengths of each bull. Notice this bull is a high growth bull that also earned the maximum of 5 stars for carcass. Sell more pounds and earn more premiums with bulls like this and you will love their powerful looks.

Here is our first red SimAngus bull. He is ideal for producing highly fertile females that will make great replacements for your cowherd while also producing breed leading payweight that will ring the cash register when you sell your calves. Notice he ranks in the top 9% or better for a multitude of traits that are sure to increase your profits including feed efficiency and marbling.

This is a super attractive bull with multi-trait excellence including outstanding growth to help you sell more pounds in the right package.

Wow, this bull is handsome, and his mother is a cow that we raised & sold as a 4-year-old to Advanced Beef Genetics and All Beef. She topped their dispersal sale at almost 10 years of age for $25,000. This is the right kind, and he will make you money when you sell your calves live or on a value-based grid.

Growth and carcass traits are where our SimAngus cattle really shine. Eagle is a great sire and you will continue to see him in many of our pedigrees. We believe in breeding the best.

Here is the first of 4 bulls that you can breed to both heifers and cows with great results. If you are keeping replacement heifers and building a highly fertile cowherd, then you need bulls like this that rank high for both FERTility & STAYability.

EPDs are the most accurate tool to help us select cattle that do more things right than any other tool we have. We started using breed association EPDs 40 years ago and added the $Profit system almost a decade ago. We are thankful for the extra tools in our toolbox to help you and I both more accurately select cattle that increase your profits. Our stars simplify the science.

This is the first of 3 full brothers that all rank high for the traits that make you the most money. FERTility, STAYability, Marbling and Carcass Weight. These are ideal bulls if you sell on a value based grid because of their combination of both marbling and pounds on the rail.

You will surely like this full brother who looks amazing, and he excels in feed efficiency to help produce more pounds of beef with less cost. We must remember that Profit = Income - Expenses. This bull is a profit improver: the calves start small, cows will breed back quicker, lower feed cost, and he’ll produce more pounds to sell.

Check out this red full brother to the two black bulls above. We are building a supply chain to add value to your calves & this is a bull that fits our mantra to produce COWS THAT STAY & STEERS THAT PAY.

Here is the first of two full brothers that are loaded with muscle. Their mother is an outstanding President daughter. There are lots of Redhill Double Agent daughters and they have all shown to be productive, fault free females.

This should be a safe choice to use on virgin heifers to get calves that are born easy and then grow into high yielding offspring with lots of muscle. There are lots of Redhill Double Agent daughters and they have all shown to be productive, fault free females.

Bulls

This is the first of three virgin bulls that are full two years old to give you an even bigger age advantage than most bulls in the industry that are sold as yearlings. Why ask a boy to do a man’s job? Use this bull’s added maturity to your advantage to get more cows bred early & more payweight on your calves because they are born earlier in the calving season.

This bull should make great feeder calves with strong genetics for growth and carcass. We recommend these last 3 bulls be used just to produce steers and heifers for the feedyard and sold live or on a value-based grid. Female descendants of their maternal grandsire have not been good females to keep for replacements.

Here is the highest growth bull in the entire sale that also has outstanding carcass value. This bull is more easily excitable. We recommend these last 3 bulls be used just to produce steers and heifers for the feedyard and sold live or on a value-based grid. OPTIONS & PRIVILEGES OF RETURN OR ADJUSTMENT

1) The following adjustments do not preclude the right of the Purchaser and seller to mutually agree upon other terms and conditions for settlement of any dispute. All claims for adjustment or refund must be made in writing either within six (6) months from the date of sale or no later than when the animal reaches 24 months of age, whichever occurs later, with the exception of claims involving parentage or defects. 2) All returns or refunds will be paid in the form of a replacement animal of similar quality or in credit for use on any products marketed by the seller. a) This credit will be limited to the purchase price less the salvage value of the animal. b) Salvage value = Market price x greater of “current weight” as taken in September prior to the sale or the animal’s current weight at the time of salvage, whichever is greater. 3) In the event an animal is claimed to be a non-breeder, the animal may be returned to the ranch of the Seller, at Purchaser’s expense, if in good physical condition, and the return is in compliance with the health requirements of the Seller’s state. The Seller shall be entitled to a six (6) month trial period following the return of the animal in which to prove that the animal is a breeder. If at the end of six (6) months the Seller is unable to prove the animal is a breeder, the seller shall, at the option of the Purchaser, replace the animal with another of similar value or grant the Purchaser a credit on any products marketed by Seller. Either of these options shall be deemed full satisfaction and settlement. If the Seller proves the animal to be a breeder, it shall be the obligation of the Purchaser to take delivery of the animal and pay all expense incurred for transportation. 4) If a registered female sold as “safe-in-calf” proves not to be in calf (by the projected due date listed in the catalog or

sale day supplement), the Purchaser may receive service from the bull previously used, if available or if the bull is not available the Seller shall be obligated to credit or refund the Purchaser $400. Any adjustment provided for herein shall absolve the Seller from further liability, except in case such female proves to be a non-breeder. If a female represented as “safe-in-calf” at time of sale to a certain bull proves to have been bred to a different bull, the Seller shall be obligated to reimburse the Purchaser up to $600 (adjustments shall not be considered to be a breeding fee or an allocation of the purchase price to any unborn calf). Any expenses incurred for transportation shall be the responsibility of the Purchaser. 5) If a female sold as “open” proves to be with calf, the Purchaser may return the animal to the farm of the Seller prior to calving for a credit of the full purchase price or for another animal of similar value, whichever is acceptable to the Purchaser. It shall be the obligation of the Seller to bear any expense incurred for transportation.

GENETIC CONDITION, DEFECT & PARENTAGE GUARANTEE 1) Technology is helping identify numerous genetic conditions that have been in the general cattle population for many years. Those known today include: Arthrogryposis Multiplex (AM), Double Muscling (DM), Dwarfism (DW), Hypotrichosis (HY), Alpha-Mannosidosis (MA), Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH), Osteopetrosis (OS), Protoporphyria (PR), Pulmonary Hypoplasia with Anasarca (PH), Syndactyly (SN) (Mule Foot), Tibial Hemimelia (TH), Neuropathic Hydrocephalus (NH), Contractural Arachnodactyly (CA) (Fawn Calf Syndrome), Parrot Mouth and Developmental Duplications Mutation (DD). Most of these are believed to be simple recessive in inheritance. These condition can be effectively managed by strategic DNA testing and avoidance of breeding carrier females to carrier bulls. All potential carriers of any of these defects will be tested with the results printed in this catalog or in the Sale Day Supplement. Animals tested as a carrier of one of these genes are noted with a (C) after the abbreviation. In the case that an animal is homozygous for that gene, then they will be listed with an (A) after the abbreviation.

The parentage of the animals bred by the Seller is guaranteed to the extent that the animal is by the Sire and out of the Dam indicated on its registration paper. These guarantees are effective for a period of two years from the date of sale only under the following conditions. a) The Purchaser shall notify the Seller in writing immediately upon the birth of a calf suspected of being defective or immediately after determination is made that such calf is defective, or if parentage is suspected or found to be in error. b) The Seller, at his expense, shall be permitted and provided, with reasonable opportunity, to obtain DNA samples of an alleged defective calf and its sire and dam for the purpose of DNA analysis to establish parenthood. In the case of suspect parentage, the Purchaser at his expense, shall be permitted and provided with reasonable opportunity to obtain DNA samples of the animal in question and its sire and dam for the purpose of blood type/DNA analysis to establish parenthood. If sire or dam is indicated on the animals registration paper is proven to be in error by such analysis, the Seller shall reimburse Purchaser for cost of such analysis. c) The animals will be returned by the Purchaser to the Seller at the Purchaser’s expense; provided the animal meets the health requirements for the Seller’s state. d) The replacement of an animal with another of similar value or the refund of the purchase price, in connection with a defect producing animal or an animal whose parentage is in error, shall be deemed full satisfaction and settlement.

2. In the event there is a dispute as to whether or not a calf is defective, or parentage is in error, “determination “referred to in Paragraph 1A above shall be made by a person or persons acceptable to both the Purchaser and Seller. In the event that the Purchaser and Seller cannot agree on the selection of such person or persons, then each of them shall appoint a representative to make the determination. In the event that such representatives fail to agree, a third person selected by the representatives of the Purchaser and Seller shall make the determination.
