Award Winners
Congratulations to the following athletes who were awarded Players of the Year, All Long Island, and MVP in their respective sports this winter and spring seasons:
Nicolette Picone ’21 was named the NSCHSGAA Pitcher of the Year and All League for this past softball season.
Natalie Bottiglieri ’22 was named NSCHSGAA Player of the Year and All League for this past softball season.
Carly Kane ’21 was named to Newsday’s All Long Island Team and received NSCHSGAA All League Honors.
Claire Galante ’21 was awarded the NSCHSGAA Golfer of the Year.
Thomas Sluka ’21 was awarded the CHSFL Golden Eleven award. Maeve Duggan ’22 was awarded the Track and Field MVP award at the NSCHSAA Track and Field League Championship.
Kellie Ann Sandas ’21 was named the NSCHSGAA League MVP from this past bowling season.
Victoria Dieguez ’21 was named to the All Long Island Second Team by Newsday and also received NSCHSGAA All League Honors.
Ryan Nunez ’23 qualified for the NSCHSAA State swimming tournament.
Margaret McLoughlin ’21 was named 3rd Team All Long Island by the Long Island Coaches Association in conjunction with the UASTF.

Solosky Award Winners

On June 9th, Kellenberg Memorial was proud to celebrate the 30 seniors who played all 12 seasons over their four years at KMHS. Elizabeth Solosky, wife of the late beloved faculty member Ed Solosky, was in attendance to present the student athletes this prestigious honor. GIRLS JV BASKETBALL

The Girls JV Basketball Team was thrilled to be back on the court this season and worked hard to play to their full potential. “Play with heart” is the motto that embodied the team’s efforts this season. They finished the season with an 8-0 record and were undefeated league champions!
BOYS VARSITY LACROSSE
The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team took home the CHSAA Long Island AA Championship in great fashion scoring 15 goals. Brian Russell ’21 and Griffin Chernoff ’21 combined for 11 points in the victory.

VARSITY WRESTLING

At the outdoor NSCHSAA League Tournament, Firebird varsity wrestlers Brendan Martin ’23, Omar Reyes ’21, James Perotta ’23, Hector Ketant ’21, and Anthony Iadevaio ’21 brought home the victory by winning each of their respective brackets. At the CHSAA Championship, Brendan Martin ’23 won the 110 lb bracket while the team finished second overall.
GIRLS VARSITY BOWLING
The Girls Varsity Bowling Team won their fifth straight NSCHSGAA Championship in February 2021. The team went a perfect 10-0 and has remained undefeated over the past few years.

GIRLS SPRING TRACK & FIELD

The Girls Track and Field Team brought home the CHSAA Nassau Suffolk Championship by an incredible margin!
GIRLS VARSITY GOLF
The Girls Varsity Golf Team went a perfect 10-0 in the regular season and carried that momentum into the playoffs, taking home the NSCHSGAA Championship! The team was led by Claire Galante ’21, Olivia Callahan ’21, and Catherine Slade ’24.
