The water pump is a component that takes water from the radiator and allows that water to move through the motor for keeping the operating temperature of the engine constant during the cycle. You must have a water pump in good order to ensure that the coolant is moving through the engine block. Wrong coolant, worn drive belt, dry running- can damage the water pump. Do coolant change at the right time, use coolant recommended by the manufacturer, replace the serpentine belt on time, and keep the water pump inspected- to avoid car breakdown due to water pump failure.
