Are there separate questions for students applying from Japan?

The test material is the same for everyone.

Is it possible for students who have only studied English in Japan, and for those who are not returnees, to pass the entrance examinations?

We currently have students attending our School who have never studied outside of Japan. Therefore, it is possible for such students to pass the entrance exams, but the more English you know the better your chance of success.

Please tell me about the units covered on the math examination?

The test will cover materials up until the 3rd grade of Junior High School which is the equivalent of Geometry and Algebra I in the United States.

Can I use a Scientific Calculator during the math exam? You may not use any calculators during the written exams.

When are the interviews conducted?

The interviews are conducted immediately after the written exams or the day after. The School will designate the date and time accordingly.

What is the acceptance rate? How many students apply from Japan?

Do you recommend taking English proficiency tests?

Yes. These help the School to determine your level in terms of English fluency. We recommend the TOEFL, TOEIC, and EIKEN in that order.

Will a copy of the transcript suffice in place of the 入学志願者調査書 (Japanese form)? We do not accept copies of the transcripts. A sealed 入学志願者調査書 will need to be submitted directly from the school.

As my school does not rank students, we cannot fill in the criteria in the 入学志願者調査 書 What should I do? A rank helps us to determine your academic capabilities, but if that is not possible, please tell us the reason why. As a supplement, detailed comments about you will help your application..

How important is the 入学志願者調査書? Our admissions process lies on the holistic view which incorporates all aspects of the student. Therefore, we do not have a set criterion when viewing grades. We conduct our first screening process based on the submitted documents and the second screening process will be the written exams and interviews.

I want to apply for Grade 10, but, I just entered high school and it is difficult for me to prepare the recommendation portion of my documents. Do I still need to submit these?

These documents are important for assessment so they cannot be discharged. If there are some parts of the documents you cannot prepare, ask your School to write in the reasons as comments where necessary.
