01. Nautilus
Concept word:
Guide /verb/
Concept Sentence:
“Wait a minute, our lantern will be lit, and, if you like the light places, you will be satisfied” - Captain Nemo
Concept Narrative
Along the Yarra Banks sits a beacon for the community. To interact with the open through the guidance of the sea. A vessel to step away from reality.
Nautilus reinterprets the sense of guidance into a spatial experience and a respond to the surrounding whilst respecting its heritage, revitalising its historical importance - a hub that responds to the site peripherals lack of community and utilized green space.
Metaphorically in a larger context, Nautilus aims to guide the surrounding, like a lighthouse that guides ships to safety, Nautilus lits up at night, becoming a beacon for safety

Concept Narrative
A haven for struggling artists, designed to accommodate their non-stop working lifestyles, it blends rest with inspiration boasting communal spaces infused with creative energy, fostering collaboration and connection.
Amidst the bustle of city life, the structure weaves in designated pause areas. Nestled within the building, these spaces encourage artists to unwind, rejuvenate, and find solace within. Reflecting the artistic spirit, ensuring every nook and cranny inspires.
It’s not just a place to live; it’s a space to thrive, a canvas for ideas to flourish, and a community that understands the relentless pursuit of art.

03. The Facility
Concept word:
Treat /verb/
Concept Sentence:
“ The beauty of the sea is that it never shows any weakness and never tires of the countless souls that unleash their broken voices into its secret depths.” - Zeina Kassem, Crossing
Concept Narrative
A space to remember, a space to heal. A memorial for the people and more than people.
Both macro and micro scale. A spatial experience for healing and a facility to treat the city. This memorial uses the site’s history and alignment as its main design decision for proportions and influence while introducing a water treatment facility to capture the essence of the people’s needs.
If a memorial is just a space to reflect within, what more can I include for it to be useful? - My answer, a water treatment facility for Beirut, Lebanon.
