Kee-Chanona collaborates with its' clients - governments, firms, consultants and architects to increase 'local content' i.e. local labour, goods and services in the delivery of its projects across the Caribbean Region. Recognizing that the engagement of local contractors, suppliers and manufacturers benefits regional economies through lower project costs, and helps ensure that infrastructure is well maintained, Kee-Chanona makes supply and contracting opportunities available for local enterprises.

We find and grow capable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in our markets of operations, and give them real growth and development opportunities on major projects. With smart planning and contract design during the project life cycle, we successfully engage local contractors and create jobs, ensuring positive economic outcomes for regional markets. Local content is promoted through the use of specialization and disaggregation supply chain methods, as well as by encouraging SMEs to 'scale up'. The latter can be achieved through joint ventures, co-investment to develop long term facilities and build capability, combining specialized expertise or pooling resources and licensing of technology transfer agreements.

We proactively communicate these opportunities to communities ensuring that SMEs have adequate time to plan and respond, can do the work, cope with the scale and fully realize the commercial risk they are assuming as well as earn a reasonable return.
