At South Shore Christian Academy, truth is the blueprint; knowledge is the toolbox; and Christian character is under construction.
When our littlest students plant seeds, watch them grow, and acknowledge the Creator; when our middle schoolers gather at their annual retreat; when our high school students lead worship at Chapel or share their stories in Advisory groups — our students encounter Jesus as the personification of Truth and the author of their lives, supported by Christian teachers who are mentors to them and partners to their parents.
Jesus said, “I am the Truth.” More than something you know about, Truth is a Person students come to know — experientially, in community.
· Weekly chapel services featuring student-led worship
· Bible classes at all levels
· Weekly advisory sessions for all upper school students
· Community outreach and mission trips at all levels
Having a foundation in the Word and experiencing the love of God from all the staff at SSCA as I grew up has been one of the biggest blessings of my life.”
MIKAYLA, Alumna
The Harkness Table was key in helping me strengthen that muscle of speaking in class, something many of my classmates were not as comfortable with in college.”
When students are known and understood, they can be challenged and supported in their learning — and they soar. Lower schoolers engage in vibrant, hands-on learning within a thoughtful curriculum. In the upper school, intensive discussion and lab-based classes expand students’ critical capacities. Capstone experiences invite deep scholarship and real-world connections. The result: students ready to make a mark in college and beyond.
Here, students are equipped with the tools of knowledge — and the ability to use those tools for meaningful purposes:
· Art and music PS-12
· Upper school orchestra, choir, and theater
· Spanish PS-12
· 1:1 technology
· Capstone projects
· Harkness method
· AP and honors-level classes
· Robotics and 3-D printing
· Senior thesis
· Robust college advising
JOSIAH, Alumnus
Ultimately, the SSCA experience is about more than knowing information. It’s about students becoming the people God has called them to be, within the community to which He has called them: people who do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him. That calling starts now, as students engage together in a rich array of opportunities to explore interests, exercise leadership, and grow spiritually.
Our supportive community provides so many ways for students to discover and live their callings:
· L ower school community outreach
· O ver 30 upper school clubs and activities
· R ichly diverse student body
· 8 0% student participation in middle school, junior varsity, and varsity athletics
· S enior internships
· “Interterm” trips offer fi eld-based l earning
At SSCA, we became friends with people we may never have spoken to or learned from if we were not in such a small, tight-knit class.”
