“The first Burton Snowboard was born in a barn.”
Design Burton Snowboard Store based in existing two-story Building in Downtown Seattle.
The Burton Spirit
Burton Snowbards was founded by Jake Carpenter Burton, in 1977. His first snowboards were built in a barn.
“The Rider...the Product...the Process... this is my heart and soul. I just love the freedom that snowboarding gives you to do whatever the F___ you want.”
- JakeDesign Concept
The store design attempts to reflect, Burton’s beginnings, in a Barn, through years of trying to sell his idea, and build a community, a brand, all the way, to realizing his dream and reaching the success he always knew possible. As you enter the store, you begin in “a barn”, then, travel, through the years of hard work, all the way to sucess in the free, airy space of the social area.

“A blank slate of snow. Some would see only empty white space. Jake saw a sport, a community, and a culture.
He made something beautiful that had never existed before”

Two Brothers, both artists and musicians who work in design and woodworking, are expanding their urban Seattle residential property to include a DADU (Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit) to Rent as part of their retirement plan. They want the interior to be PNW Contemporary, emphasizing integrating the outdoors. The property will be a short-term rental (Airbnb) and will most likely host people from all over the country and the world, and it is essential to the client that guests experience PNW Contemporary style and living.
