WELCOME TO OUR CATALOG I am a Licensed Optician who provides Optical services for Safety Eyewear. We offer TWO Options: an On-Site Program and a Self-Service model.

The two biggest obstacles to traditional safety programs are: Compliance- By determining what is allowed and offered by your company eliminates errors and delays. Employee is responsible to go to a location, present a form and the Optician is to take measurements and complete the form. If an inexperienced Optician takes the order, often we had to call back the employee to re-select eyewear (that meets company standards) or remove lens options that did not meet the guidelines. Safety orders are NOT a priority in any office.

Inconvenience- By offering an On-Site or Self-Service option, this makes it easy to obtain Safety Eyewear. I worked with a company, where our office was 25 miles from the workplace and employees lived farther than that. I work with you to alleviate errors, headaches and compliance.

Our Program Management of your Rx Safety Program makes it easy to:

Single Vision Lenses are for correction for one field of vision.

Either for distance, intermediate (computer), or near vision (reading).

Different Types of Multifocal Eyeglass Lenses Whether it is near or far vision, personalizing your lens can make a significant impact on the way you see the objects and perform your work. It is a great thing that today’s lens technology not only provides you custom vision but also offers you the perfect lens that can make your daily lifestyle clear and comfortable. It’s quite common that before you purchase any eyewear, you’ll need to know about the options of your eye needs. Likewise, multifocal lenses have different options to correct your vision. EyeGuy offers many options for working conditions.

Bifocal Lens: Bifocal eyeglass lenses have two lens powers – one for distance purpose and the other for near vision. The lower half of a bifocal lens contains the near segment for reading and another close up works like driving. The remaining part of the lens is usually for distance correction. Another popular fused bifocal is the round segment bifocal. The advantage of these bifocals is that the line separating the distance and near zones of the lens tends to be less prominent than the upper edge of a distance segment bifocal.

Progressive Lens: Progressive eyeglass lens is true multifocal lens that eradicate segment lines for a smooth transition between correcting segments. These lenses offer a large number of powers for clear eye sight and clarity of vision at all distances. The wearer’s vision is more comfortable and natural because there is no image jump due to the absence of visible lines of lens power in a progressive.

The most popular occupational multifocal lens is “Double – D.” This type of lens has an upside down flat top segment for intermediate or near vision in the top third of the lens and a second flat top segment for near vision in the bottom third. In few cases, a standard multifocal lens can become an occupational lens by altering the way it is placed in your eyeglass frame.

ANSI STANDARDS FOR SAFETY GLASSES

Not all eyewear meets ANSI Z87.1 Standards for eye protection. OSHA regulations direct employers that safety eyewear should be worn whenever there is a risk of injury to the eyes due to impact, heat, chemical, dust or optical radiation hazards.

Most casual eyewear does not meet OSHA requirements for on-the-job use where the potential for eye hazards exists. Eyewear that meets the ANSI Z87.1 Standard is uniquely designed and engineered to withstand greater impacts and still protect the eye.

Safety eyewear frames must pass a high mass impact test and a high velocity impact test. During the high mass impact test, the frame must be capable of resisting impact from a pointed projectile weighing 17.6 ounces dropped from a height of 51.2 inches. The high velocity impact test subjects frames to impacts from a 0.25-inch steel bag traveling at 150-fps velocity. The frame must be capable of resisting this impact.

Lenses that meet the standard must withstand the free drop of a 1-inch steel ball from 50 inches under specific conditions. This is equal to impact energy of .6 foot-pounds.
