VISITS TO HOMICIDE SCENES
At any hour of the day or night, KC MIC Founder Rosilyn Temple is called by Kansas City police to come to a homicide scene to provide support and information for family members of the victim.

HOME VISITS TO FAMILIES
When a family has lost someone to homicide, we follow up with home visits to provide them information on what their next steps should be and find out how we can help.

FAMILIES RECEIVED EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE
Food, clothing, help with funeral expenses and more are provided to our families.

VIGILS HELD

Everyone on our list receives a phone call from KC MIC volunteers every single week, checking in to see how they’re doing, what needs they may have and what KC MIC can offer for them.

SUPPORT GROUPS HELD
Our outreach continues for months after the homicide, with monthly support groups providing family members with opportunities for sharing, support, and learning about resources they may need.

CLIENTS RECEIVED ONE-ON-ONE COUNSELING
Family members are offered free counseling sessions with clinical psychologists specializing in grief therapy.

NEW CLIENTS ADDED
Family members can stay on our client list for as many weeks, months or years as they want and need our support, with 65 new members added this year.
“We Will Always Remember Them” isn’t just a slogan. We work with families to hold vigils to commemorate the lives of the loved one they lost in the months and years after their death.
