ThePierceBrigade,the membershiporganization dedicatedtopreservingthe homeandlegacyofPresidentFranklinPierce,is hostingaconcertonthe lawnatthePierceManseon Thursday,July18at7p.m. Theconcertwillbeprecededbyanicecreamsocial andopenhousefrom5:306:30p.m.Theeventisfree andopentothepublic.
Nevers’SecondRegiment BandistheCapitalCity’s professionalcommunity band,dedicatedtobringing anannualseriesofsummer concertstothegreaterConcordareaandthroughout thestate.Itscompound namederivesfromitsmilitaryaffiliationwiththe SecondRegimentofthe NewHampshireNational Guardinthelate1800’sand directionformorethanhalf
acenturybyClaremontcornetist,ArthurNevers.The bandalsohaslinkstothe CivilWarBandof1861that accompaniedtheThirdNew HampshireRegimentto HiltonHead,SouthCarolina.Throughoutitsyears ofservice,Nevers’Bandhas
remainedaprofessional civiliancommunityband, butitsmilitaryoriginshave alwaysflavoreditshistory andtraditions.

Afullmeasureandlist revaluationisscheduledto begininJuly2024.Thisisa citywideprojectthatwill continuethrough2026. Thisprocessisdoneto maintainfairandequitable assessmentsandwillbe completedbyVisionGovernmentalSolutions,Inc. ofthebuildings,anyimprovements,andinspectionsoftheinteriorto verifyandupdateinformationonfile.VGSIwillinspectapproximately45%of thepropertiesin2024and willinspectthebalanceof propertiesin2025.
