About

I am fourth-year student designer in the Interior Architecture and Design program at Florida State University focusing on a professional path in Interior Design. As a designer, I take an individualistic approach to the concept and philosophy behind my work.

I believe that design has a responsibility and purpose to improve the safety, healing, and wellbeing of occupants while cohesively benefiting the natural environment. I aim to focus on merging my design strategy with trauma informed design education to become an inclusive designer contributing to the commercial world of interior design.

Good Timber

The design of Little Sailors Pediatrics in Baltimore, Maryland draws inspiration from the poem “Good Timber”, symbolizing strength and resilience, much like a sturdy ship sailing through the rough seas. The healthcare facility will embrace a growth-oriented philosophy, integrating positive distractions, vertical design elements, and natural features. The color palette and furniture selections will be influenced by the natural world, incorporating organic forms and colors inspired by the land and sea. This space will be carefully designed to alleviate stress for both healthcare providers and patients while fostering emotions of perseverance, growth, and triumph over adversity.

mindset is vital for a youth primary care clinic. To empower young visitors, the circulation plan and inclusive signage will surround a central landmark, providing them with a sense of control by allowing them to easily locate rooms independently. The healthcare facility will embrace a growth-

oriented philosophy, integrating positive distractions, vertical design

elements, and natural features. The color palette and furniture selections will be influenced by the natural world, incorporating organic forms and colors

Sailors’ Serenity Lounge At Little Sailors Pediatrics, our waiting area is inclusive and caters to visitors of all abilities. To ensure everyone feels welcome, we provide bariatric capable seating along with ADA-compliant paths and counters. Our ‘I Spy’ wall serves as a positive distraction, bringing joy to both patients and caregivers. Additionally, our boat-themed play zone allows younger children to engage and have a place to play while they wait.

Harmony Harbor The outdoor space accessed from the waiting area serves as both extra seating and a therapeutic environment for behavioral health. A tranquil water feature and shimmering glass mosaics promote reflection and relaxation. While ensuring safety with its unique fence, this area maintains a connection to the outside world through its open views. Adding a playful touch, the overhead sail shade structure not only provides cover but also complements the sailor inspiration.

Exam Room Elevation The elevation provides a view down the main corridor, depicting the outside of the exam rooms along with wayfinding cues.

Exam Room Typical An overhead holographic display gives patients a sense of autonomy, empowering them to select their preferred sailor image using a remote.

All surfaces are bleach-cleanable and align with Wyzenbeek recommendations for clinical environments. Adjacent to the patient table, a custom mural by a local artist fills the wall, with each exam room including a different line from the inspiring poem “Good Timber”.

Recharge Brunch Cafe 12

The design of the brunch café in Tallahassee, Florida for the Cascades Mixed-Use Development is inspired and informed by the idea of a blooming flower. The café will provide an environment that promotes nourishment and growth of guests, similar to the growth process of flowers. Organic forms, natural textures, and a rich color palette will immerse users and evoke feelings of inclusion and joy. These elements will be used to incorporate harmony and movement through the space to create simplistic wayfinding. Project completed in collaboration with Bridget O’Brien.

To-go Counter and Bar The to-go area includes a service counter where guests can place orders for food and coffee to take away. The counter wraps into the bar seating zone which provides a more open and social dining experience. A merchandise display is featured on the back right wall, offering guests the opportunity to buy their favorite Recharge products.

Indoor Dining The indoor dining area features a variety of seating options to allow guests to select the space that makes them feel most comfortable whether they are eating in a group or alone. Guests in this area can order food by scanning the barcode provided on each table.

Outdoor Lounge The patio serves as a lounge and dining area with comfortable seating and café tables that allow guests to get some fresh air, socialize, or enjoy a drink. Cornhole serves a entertainment for both children and adults and gives the environment a more relaxed feel.

The design is inspired and informed by the feeling of eutierria. This symbolizes a positive feeling of oneness with the earth and relates to a deep sense of peace within. The idea will be expressed through sustainable materials, organic forms, and a natural color scheme. It will also influence the flow of the floor plan with rooms branching off of a central area. The safe residence will adhere to Trauma-Informed Design principles and promote safety while meeting the needs of the victims.

United Roots Refuge

Location: Tallahassee, Florida Size: 3,720 Sq. Ft. Sector: Humanitarian

Revit Photoshop

Brehon Family Services, a nonprofit organization in Tallahassee, Florida has requested a design for an anti-violence shelter and center for women ages 16-24 who are victims of domestic violence. The safe residence will adhere to Trauma Informed Design principles and promote safety while meeting the needs and desires of the victims. In collaboration with Emma Morrow, we presented extensive research on the principles of Trauma Informed Design for the predesign phase. After the first phase, we came up with a checklist of our top Trauma Informed Design goals and began preliminary design. After developing multiple plans, we ultimately settled on the most trauma responsive plan of action.

Community Room This is a room with plentiful natural lighting where users can come to watch television together, meet visitors in a semi-public setting, or gather to make connections. Selected furniture features round forms to reduce the feeling of a hierarchy that can be created with harsh lines. Protected back seating options are also provided to encourage a feeling of personal safety in the space. Acoustic paneling on the back wall allows for intimate conversations to not be heard outside of the community room. The muted, natural hues throughout the shelter encourage the users to feel a sense of tranquility and calmness within each space.

Reflection Room This is a space for quiet reflection, prayer, reading, and meditation. The primary goal for this room was tranquility in relation to the concept of eutierria. Materials chosen for the space keep the natural world in mind and attempt to create a cohesive indoor-outdoor feel.

Level 2 Floor Plan The floor plan for the second floor showcases the three two-person bedroom suites that remain readily available for users. Each bathroom is stocked with donated beauty products, toiletries, and clothing for each person who comes to stay.

Resident Bedroom This vignette displays the individual space for one resident in a typical bedroom. This space provides the guest with a lofted bed featuring a lockable area underneath for safely storing personal items. A cork board is integrated next to each bed to allow for personalization and comfort.

The floral wallpaper ties the space back to the concept of eutierria while also acting as a form of beauty and meaning.

Canyon Care Clinic Awarded First Place by Gresham Smith

24 Canyon Care Clinic

The design of Canyon Care Clinic will draw inspiration from the natural sandstone arches of Arches National Park, in Grand County, Utah. As symbols of strength, longevity, and unity, the arches will be the guiding force behind the clinic’s design. The comprehensive system will be self-sustaining, encompassing patients, the facility, and the surrounding environment. Through the incorporation of organic forms, biophilia, and cutting-edge technology, Canyon Care will offer a restorative and nurturing environment for patients and providers alike. Project completed in collaboration with Maya Sorensen, Ciara Iglesias, and Stepahnie Altamirano.

Wellness Welcome The check-in and waiting area of the clinic is designed to offer a direct sightline to the lightwell, created as the children’s play zone. The clinic’s entrance fosters a feeling of openness and is designed to reduce stress in difficult times. The blonde sandstone flooring and limestone inspired walls are derived from the local vernacular.

Circular flow is employed for ease of navigation and efficiency. Private spaces for providers are placed toward the back of the space, while patient rooms are located toward the front.

Caregiver Canyon Retreat The breakroom was designed for providers to unwind and enjoy their meals during breaks. The design serves as a valuable tool in attracting and retaining healthcare professionals in the rural region. The ceiling is inspired by the layers found in the surrounding canyons.

West Hall Treatment Rooms The elevation provides a view down the west hall, depicting the outside of the exam rooms along with wayfinding cues.

Exam Room Axonometric Technology-integrated exam rooms create comfort for patients and ease of use for providers. Tablets and projection screens allow for easy sanitation and transparency between providers and patients. The custom ceiling and flexible furniture allow for patient autonomy. The ceiling is inspired by the upward gaze experienced while within the surrounding canyons of Utah.

The building meets necessary ADA requirements and all codes as well as standards for commercial group B buildings in the Florida Building Code. This project extended over twelve weeks and was finalized with a compilation of over thirty construction document pages.

The Argonaut Building is designed for Expedition Consulting, a large scale consulting firm in Tallahassee, Florida. The building requires eight employee offices along with a kitchen, intern station, volunteer bullpen, conference room, and additional areas for meetings and office events.

Sections The sections of the office building portray the exterior structure of the building as well as an internal look at the interior architecture and design.

Purple Goat Agency 34 Purple Goat Agency

The design of the workplace for Purple Goat Agency in Colorado Springs is inspired and informed by the idea of Leveling Up. This symbolizes the hierarchical levels within the company as well as the collective goal of succeeding as a marketing agency. It also references overall growth. This idea will be expressed through geometric forms, a gradient color scheme, and a proportional office layout. Selected furniture will feature straight lines and geometric forms to enforce the feeling of organization and distinction. Hues used throughout the space will encourage a separation between offices for management and general staff. Overall, the idea of Leveling Up will be displayed throughout the workplace with variety in linear shapes, tints and shades of a hue, and a corresponding layout to job title.

Work Cafe The work cafe offers more collaborative seating options with easily movable stools. This environment encourages togetherness in a more casual setting. The biophilic elements coupled with the long curtain walls create a cohesive indoor-outdoor feel.

Section Perspective The East side of the commercial building features diverse public spaces, encouraging collaborative engagement.

Coffee Bar The coffee bar area encourages relaxation and socialization. Small groups can gather here on breaks to chat or recharge. The environmental graphics as well as lighting aid in highlighting this more social area.
