At Kayflex, our mission statement is, ‘To Inspire the Future of Furniture Fashion’. We recognise that social media influencers have created an ‘Instagram Generation’, fuelled by likes and follows. This gratification has created a market that rewards originality and the next big trend, often snowballing brands to global fame. These trends extend beyond the traditional fashion of clothing, and has spilled into dining and lifestyle, including homes and interiors. This is evident in Louis Vuitton head designer and Off-White founder, Virgil Abloh, collaborating and launching a range with IKEA. In addition to fashion trends, environmental awareness has also proven to be a major factor in influencing consumer choice, with ethical sourcing remaining at the forefront of this. We have seen examples of this in the fast-food market as a result of BBC’s Blue Planet, the Palm Oil protests globally, as well as a growing vegan population based on ethics. We are focussed to track, drive and influence these markets within beds and bedroom interior design, helping us to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage. This ranges from aesthetically pleasing and luxurious looks, through to the use of cutting-edge technology, and researching dynamic manufacturing processes. As all our pieces are hand-crafted in our Yorkshire factory, United Kingdom, we are able to fully-customise our beds, headboards and bedroom furniture: offering over 50 native fabric combinations, in addition to being able to upholster using customer-supplied fabrics. We also cut and create our timber and MDF to size, which enables us to further personalise and tailor products to suit all tastes and rooms. All pieces are made-toorder and can be adorned with a variety of feet, fixtures and fittings. From custom beading, and a variety of button options, the combinations and permutations are vast, and you can be confident that your piece of custom furniture is truly custom.
We are proudly a trade association member of the British Furniture Manufacturers. All of our products are hand-crafted in the UK, using locally supplied materials that meet UKAS standards. 4

We only use local, fully accredited and compliant suppliers. We ensure that our timber is responsibly sourced from suppliers who import from well managed and sustainable sources. This is confirmed with their FSC and PEFC certification. All timber and products purchased from us can be supplied with full FSC or PEFC certification on Ourrequest.fabric is produced using environmentally friendly, Antimony, Bromide and halogen free system. Each batch is tested utilising a UKAS accredited test house. As well as meeting UK fire regulatory standards, our fabric is also coated in ground-breaking covering, inhibiting dangerous organisms such as MRSA, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia Coli. Our fabric is exclusively from suppliers that produce specialised flame proof coatings for the contract upholstery market including nursing homes, hotels and theatres. This allows the coating of the fabric to be: Waterproof Flame retardant up to Schedule 3 crib 5 Stain resistant Breathable. We use chipboard that is made up from recycled wood, and the waste is recycled and provided back to our suppliers to ensure an enviornmentallyfriendly product cycle. Our timber waste is also recycled to create chipboard and used for fuel. All plastics used are also fully recyclable.
