CONCEPT

The Concept Was To Create a Space Which Is Complete Contrast To The Indsustrial or Constructional Zone .

• So ,Site Was Divided Into Three Parts.

• The Two Sides Are Buildings and The Central Space Is Green Landscape.

• It Gives An Radial Acess To Other Spaces So, all Other Spaces Are Easily Accessible

• The Central Space Helps the Person to Engage And Explore The Entire Site.

The Circulation In The Site Was Divided Into Three Lane’s

• Two Lane’s For Vechicular Movement

• One for Pedestrian Movement

Structurally, the system is formalized by combining three elements: membranes, rigid structures such as pole and masts, and cables.

The cables, which are responsible for the distribution of the tensile stresses and the hardening of the canvasses. It Was Divided Into Two Based On Its Action’s .

• load-bearing

• stabilizing

The load-bearing cables are those that directly receive the external loads, fixed at the highest points

The stabilizing cables are responsible for strengthening the load-bearing cables and cross the loadbearing cables orthogonally

Likewise The height of the building decreasces from the front to back and vice versa and it is in complicted, irregular shape that indicates them that we have to solve the problems and face the ups and downs to be successfull.

THE BRICK SCHOOL

Montessori Education

pg. 32

Unique features of the Montessori school

In a Montessori class, there is freedom within limits. Children work freely at their own pace, either alone or with others, with material they chose themselves. There are lot spaces in the school with some interesting activities like mountain climbing area, library, painting walls.

Young children learn best in a home like setting, filled with appropriate material that motivate and stimulate the child to learn and develop. There is a toy room were they can pick what ever they wanted and play with it and there is a kitchen also were they can cook .

The library contains lot of comic and activity books and there is a television were they can learn stuffs visually also. Every single children has a separate place where they can keep their stuffs. The furniture also made to their size and there are pillows and blankets which makes them feel like home.By using their blankets and some furniture they can create their own space in the classroom with their friends. The teacher just guide on their own way of learning based on their activities in the classroom and on which their interests lies.

DESIGN INTENT

The site is located in chennai.so, according to the stereographic diagram the north direction has the lesser radiation comparing to the other directions.we can also get good natural lighting from the north as well.

The students are going to spend their most time in classrooms more than any other space in the school.so,by orienting the classroom in the north direction will bring good natural lighting into the classrooms with lesser radiations .

Further, creating some extended walls in the other direction will helps to make the spaces shaded form radiations.planting more plants will also creates more shadow and good positive atmosphere.

On the other side every classroom is connected to a courtyard or a green space which creates a good atmosphere for students to learn.

RAT TRAP BOND

The cavities in the act as thermal insulators. Thus, the interiors remain cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

Rat Trap masonry uses fewer bricks and mortar reducing the cost of masonry up to 30% when compared with conventional brick masonry.

Many buildings that were constructed decades ago have proved that this type of walling technology is durable and the maintenance costs are low.
