Body Gone is a zine that highlights the specificity of life as it lands on the body. It is a zine about the body, in light of its absence; a zine that was reverse-engineered around the presence of bodies. Body Gone holds negative space where bodies would and should be; it works around. Functions like a halo. Leaves outlets to plug into. It is for active readers who need a place to deposit some imagination.
Each image and piece of writing is a limb splintered from its original body of work and reassembled here, exquisite corpse style. Like making a bouquet, each fragment has been re-contextualized here, contributing to the full and round whole.
All of the writing has undergone translation from the handwritten form. Although the virtual plane has a flattening quality, the zine retains longhand aspects in a last ditch effort to hold onto the worn and tangible.
