Millville Ratepayers to save $45,000 in electricity costs

Millville residents and business owners will save billing, power, or customer service. Fire Station nears completion by Susan f ranz

Everyone driving through downtown u xbridge has watched with interest the tremendous progress on our new Fire s tation. t he station is now in its final construction phase and thoughts are turning to recruiting new on-call members and the opportunities the new station will provide to improve service. One such potential opportunity is to expand recruiting for on-call EMs personnel outside of the t own’s borders to cover second ambulance call shifts. t he additional housing space in the station can be used by out of town EMs personnel who are covering a per diem shift. t he extra space also lets on-call fire personnel stay closer to the equipment during harsh weather events. t he u xbridge Fire d epartment is experiencing the same issue of almost every department across the country with on-call fire fighters: the need for new members. t hey are currently undergoing a recruitment campaign. On-call fire fighter candidates complete a four-month training program
