Here they are paired with South African wines and served in a new home brimming with old-fashioned Southern hospitality.

Chefs Executive Chef Ivan Giani of the Eleven Experience honed his skills in the famed Cape Winelands Cuisine of South Africa’s Franschhoek Valley under Chef Chris Erasmus (Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant). He brought his sensibility of color and spice with him to Braai South African Restaurant and Kaia Wine Bar in New York City. Kaia Wine Bar Owner Suzaan Hauptfleisch and Chef Billy Dineen serve seasonal dishes of local, organic ingredients that celebrate their South African heritage, and nearly 50 South African wines, all served by the glass. Their efforts have earned Michelin recommendations and made Kaia a mainstay in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Chefs A graduate of Denver’s Cook Street School of Culinary Arts, Chef Rose Reyes of Montanya Distillers prepares fresh Nouvelle Cuisine dishes sparkling with an Asian-fusion twist. She creates aesthetic and sensual eating experiences, the visual and textural followed by an explosion of tastes. Chef Biju Thomas of Biju’s Little Curry Shop (named “Best Indian Restaurant in Denver” by Westword) Chef Rose Reyes is known for light, simple dishes bursting with bold flavors from the chef’s native south India. Since 2009, Chef Thomas has cooked for dozens of elite professional athletes and celebrities, teaching them the craft of healthy, everyday cooking.

Caju n Bru nch-n-Boogie SAUNTER TO THE CENTER FOR A SOUL-SATISFYING Cajun Sunday brunch complete with live music from the bayou and a guaranteed barefoot-in-the-grass dance party.

Chef Chef Michael Marchitelli of Marchitelli’s Gourmet Noodle is a Crested Butte classic, known for his cooking repertoire of family recipes from his grandmother’s Italian heritage. But some may not know of his deepseated love affair with New Orleans. After living in the Crescent City and attending Tulane University, and before his decades-long tenure with Marchitelli’s Gourmet Noodle, Chef Chef Michael Marchitelli Michael opened his first culinary endeavor with his mother in Pennsylvania — a New Orleans blues bar. He immediately fell in love. Be ready for a raucous — and flavorful — good time.

Music Tony Trahan & the BlueKrewe play a mix of swampy Louisiana roots music straight from the bayou. Like a good Cajun gumbo they add different seasonings to the pot — a pinch of zesty zydeco, a splash of Cajun injections, fistfuls of rockin’ bayou blues, some Mardi Gras flavoring and a heaping helping of New Orleans funk. Their energy, enthusiasm and talent landed them tours and openings for Sonny Landreth, Marcia Ball, Karl Denson and Anders Osborne.

Spotligh t on Argentina WINEMAKER SANTIAGO ACHÁVAL IS A GLOBAL LEADER IN winemaking and a pioneer in Argentine old-vine Malbec wines with a passionate cult following. His winemaking career began in founding Achával-Ferrer in Argentina with Manuel Ferrer and Roberto Cipresso, achieving world renown in a few short years. He again joined Cipresso to start Matervini (“Mother of Wine” in Latin), also in Argentina, further exploring the varying personalities of Malbec from different terroirs. Santiago’s third endeavor is The Farm Winery, founded with Jim and Azmina Winemaker Madsen in Paso Robles, California. Wine Spectator, which Santiago Achával named his wine as the top 10 in the world in 2012, has honored him on their “Top 100” list six times, his Matervini Malbec the only Malbec to make that list in 2018. In their review of over 460 Argentine wines, the top three were all made by Santiago. He’s produced four of the five highest rated Malbecs in the history of Argentina. Six of his wines have received 98 and 99 points from Wine Advocate (Robert Parker), with other wines rated 95 or higher over 18 times. Wine & Spirits named his eponymous property “Winery of the Year” based on blind tastings of more than 9,000 wines globally.
