Hello! I am an NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer with 4 years of experience across a multitude of project types, including commercial-corporate and civic projects, K12 campuses, higher education campuses, sports and recreation projects and most recently, luxury single family properties. My current role is for a design-build firm which has given me great experience in the construction phase and working with a multitude of both design and building professionals.

I am passionate about people, and designing to influence how they feel, act and react to the spaces they occupy. I believe human wellbeing and green approaches should always be at the forefront of design theory and concepts. Design impacts our daily lives and the world around us, which inspires me to design projects holistically with people, with the community and with mindfulness for the environment.

The Natomas Center project designed for Los Rios Community College District is located in North Natomas, CA. The original campus was in need of spaces for informal learning, social gathering and community making spaces for both students and faculty relationships. The main goal was to allow students to linger on campus longer and to create a place for community to happen, as well as provide indoor / outdoor experiences and activity. The building consists of two levels programmed with general classrooms, computer labs, science labs with prep space, an art and multipurpose lab, collaboration space, testing suites, conference rooms and is targeting a LEED Silver certification and 2030 Challenge energy reductions.

The final client selected concept for interior materiality and approach was based on the local Natomas Basin that is near the campus. The colors and materials were chosen from the warm natural tones of the basin plants and waters, while the textures were derived to resemble the those that you find in the natural environment. All concepts stemmed from the concept of wood material creating a space for gathering and community, and is used in those spaces where social connection is fostered.

The Physical Education Replacement building design for Santa Barbara City College is a project that is intended to replace current facilities at the school. The goal of the project was to support and promote a healthy community through active design and to inspire curiosity and discovery through moments of respite with the hillside site connected to immediate ocean views. The interior concept was based on kinetics, movement of the body, and movement through the spaces. Way finding opportunities were integrated with color and graphic opportunities draw users through the building both horizontally and vertically. By creating these opportunities, users are intrigued to explore the building as a whole. A universally accessible corridor acts as the main spine to all spaces within the building. The gym acts as the heart, full of activity, and designed to be the raw center of the building.

This space is to serve as a presentation and collaboration space, meeting area both internally and externally. It will provide storage space for materials and presentation trays, easy access to pull materials for clients and workstations for two designers with easy storage and access to project materials behind the desk space. Aesthetically fits in with the rest of larger office space with a modern, rustic feel and neutral tones to let the pinned up designs become the expression of the space. Sky lights are added to bring natural daylighting into the back of the office area, with windows added on both side walls to allow overflow natural lighting to the cubicle areas to remain beyond this space.

This project is an ongoing major renovation of an existing home located in the prestigious Silver Leaf community in North Scottsdale. The program consists of the redesign of each area, from space planning to finish selection, appliance selection, FF&E procurement and install.

I have worked one-on-one with a Senior Designer throughout the duration of this project to meet client expectations, budgets and schedules. I have also been participating in on-site construction visits to ensure design intent is met throughout construction. My role also consists of the Phase I permit set construction documentation, including architectural sheets, electrical sheets and plumbing sheets for coordination and submission to DC Ranch and the city.
