ARCHITECTURAL LICENSE THESIS PROJECT
This thesis is put forth in the interest of making an architectural proposal that provides simultaneous cultural, entertainment and educational experiences, thus offering the public the opportunity to experience and learn a work of art immersively using all the senses at once, utilizing the tools that contemporary technology offers to us.
Thus, it is proposed that a Training and Exhibition Center for digital immersive art is developed in the cultural axis of the San Borja district that, considering its strategic location, promotes innovation, creativity and learning in areas of art, audiovisual media, ICT, design, programming and other related fields, for both spectators and collaborators. Immersive digital art uses technological tools in its expression, providing the user with an immersive sensory experience. In other words, it offers the user the possibility of experiencing a work of art not only visually but also auditorily, tactilely, spatially, etc., simultaneously. A connection is established between the digital nature of this art and the architectural process through the High Tech concept, which incorporates parametricism in its design.
The Immersive Digital Art Training and Exhibition Center fulfills the demand for technical education and training, as well as for a cultural center, with a novel design that integrates entertainment, art and learning with the constant evolution of technology and computing.
Its form arises from a curve that continues an imaginary curve shaped by the nuclear location of cultural and educational buildings in a determinate area in the district of San Borja. Together, these buildings form a cultural backbone which benefits the whole of Lima. The project seeks to integrate into its urbanistic context not only in function but also in form, combining both under the concept of High Tech.
Through computational technology, not only digital art is created, but traditional art can also be digitized. Painting becomes an experience that can be lived in a first person perspective; the three-dimensionality of sculpture turns into Projection Mapping; music into atmospheric or background music that users hear while exploring the spaces.
The observer becomes an explorer and participant, they are able of touching projected surfaces and interacting with them or simply exploring environments where imagination is the limit.
The technological character of this setup is expressed in the computational design process, using steel structures that allow for large exposed spans, coverings, parametric furniture, and facades designed with software to mathematically define dimensions and modify them according to the project’s evolution.
• It is an architectural style and concept that originated in the 1970s.
• It led architects to design within the requirements and needs set by the development of industrial technologies , such as new materials, mass production, machinery, etc.
• It represents an architectural expression whose aesthetics and function are a direct evidence of the technological advancements of the moment when the architectural object is constructed.

• The location as part of the identity of the architectural work in its present and future.
• Integrating the building harmoniously into its context, being consistent with the presence and urban profile imposed by its surroundings at the urban, sociocultural, and architectural levels.
• The project is located in a consolidated city, surrounded by cultural buildings, forming a curve that faces Av. Javier Prado.
• The elements involved in the design process can be understood as parameters or variables capable of being managed and modified.
• The customization of precise commands based on elements and subsystems that come together as a whole.
• This method constitutes a system that reflects an architecture seeking the organization, articulation, and meaning of functionally distinguishable components

8TH SEMESTER DESIGN PROJECT
Mixed-use building with access for both the public and students; featuring areas for socializing, dining, classrooms, and openuse offices, as well as spaces for students looking to establish their own businesses.
The project is located on the campus of the future, and is part of an architectural master plan that seeks to coexist with nature. The inspiration for the tree-like structures comes from concepts like Arata Isozaki’s “The City in the Air,” an architect from the Japanese Metabolism movement.
To support parts of the volume in the air, a tree-like steel structure is used, resembling the trees that form the new campus. By elevating the building above ground level, the presence of parks, gardens, and public spaces is encouraged, fostering social interaction among users and a free flow towards the campus.
The project counts with green roofing, as well as the creation of terraces that connect different levels externally. Being situated in front of the educational buildings, it provides a comfortable and nearby space for students to gather, eat, and collaborate as a team.
