Conference Edition 2025
Conference Edition 2025
It's hard to believe we are in our last month of the Rotary year! This special Post-Conference edition is chock-full of stories of inspiration and learning from our recent gathering, in addition to our regular happenings in the district. As the end of our Rotary year approaches, I find myself reflecting on what a truly productive and inspiring journey we've shared. The past months have been filled with service, fellowship, and growth that exemplify the very essence of what Rotary stands for.
With just a few weeks left in our Rotary year, it's a great time to take a look at your club's "Want List" goals. Why not schedule a coffee chat with your leadership team to see what you've checked off and what's still on the to-do list? When you discover goals you've already accomplished, take a moment to celebrate those wins with your members! There's nothing like a little recognition to energize everyone. For those projects still in the works, think about what needs to happen to wrap them up by June 30th. And you know what? Some initiatives will naturally continue into the next year - that's perfectly fine! Just jot down where things stand, what the next steps are, and who's handling what. Sharing this information with your incoming team makes for such a smooth handoff. After all, our real success isn't just about checking boxes - it's about creating lasting impact and making sure the good work continues year after year.
As we prepare to transition to new leadership, I encourage you to maintain this tremendous momentum. The foundations we've built together this year will serve as a strong platform for even greater achievements in the years to come. Remember that Rotary is not merely an organization we belong to—it's a way of life that challenges us to put "Service Above Self" in all that we do. The District Visioning team is here to help your club define and pursue its unique goals with clarity and purpose.
And don't forget—our Club Website Refresh Initiative is available to all clubs across District 6330. A strong online presence is essential for visibility, engagement, and communication. This fully funded opportunity provides your club with a professional redesign by Rotarian Melissa Wells, complete with mobile responsiveness, social media integration, and personalized training. If your club has ideas or specific suggestions for how the District can best support you, please reach out. As I've said all year, our role is to inspire and support—and we're here to help your club thrive.
Our recent District Conference was nothing short of a tremendous success. I was delighted to see so many of you in attendance, embracing the opportunity for friendship, fellowship, learning, and inspiration. The energy and enthusiasm throughout the event was palpable, reminding us all of the power we hold when we come together under Rotary's banner. For those not able to attend, we recorded all of our mainstage events. On the side panels of the recaps of the sessions, you will see the link to YouTube along with the timestamp of each session. I hope you will dig in, be inspired, and follow up with those who have indeed piqued your interest. Thank you for an incredible year of service and fellowship. We look forward to Jeff Ferweda's year as District Governor.
The 2024-2025 Rotary year is quickly coming to a close and I’m so happy to be able to tell you that our Zone 28 is tracking ABOVE our 3-year membership average. AND – District 6330 will end our year with a net gain in membership. In fact, the membership growth of District 6330 is strong when compared to other Districts…
So a great big Rotarian THANK YOU to this great District 6330 Thank you for the Prospective Member Events / Thank you for inviting your District Membership Chair to present about Membership / Thank you for asking me to support new member inductions / Thank you for everything that our clubs did to support our Membership Growth Please do continue to keep me in the loop as to your Membership Activities & Celebrations
There is a terrific membership momentum across District 6330 and your leadership team will do everything we can to maintain this momentum. Should there be an event, a meeting, or a presentation that you would like me to attend – just ask! If I can attend – I will be there.
The great support of membership from RI continues and I am happy to share that beginning July 1, the RI Board expects all districts to adopt a subcommittee structure for their Membership Committees modeled after the successful Rotary Foundation committee structure.
While the use of these subcommittees has been optional in the past, the Board has seen clear, positive results in districts that embraced this model. To build on that success, all districts will now be expected to have a District Membership Chair, and Three Subcommittee Chairs focused on:
New Club Development – to look for opportunities to develop new clubs and nurture any new clubs formed so they can provide an excellent club experience
Membership Attraction – to build relationships with new and diverse prospective members who want to join a Rotary or Rotaract club
Membership Engagement – to recommend resources and activities that improve the club experience to engage members and participants
If there is interest in any of these Subcommittee responsibilities, please reach out to me. I will end this Membership Minute on that happy note, we continue to grow, raise awareness of Rotary in our communities, and have great IMPACT with all that we do.
Yours in Rotary, Lorna Gunning Fratschko, DGN, District Membership Chair
Governor Katherine planted five acres of native trees (2500) on her property last year to help with climate change and global warming
The trees need protection and soil enrichment, so the plan is to plant Dutch Clover on the area and do some weeding around the trees The Dutch clover restores nitrogen to the soil, keeps other weeds at bay, is somewhat drought resistant and is a great food for pollinators. It is low maintenance not requiring fertilizer or cutting. Our efforts towards this reforestation project will enable survival of most of the trees. The area will be cultivated so your main duty will be to do some minimal weeding, spreading and raking in the clover.
Clubs are invited to get a group together and carpool to her farm for 3 hour work shifts Light refreshments will be provided, and social opportunities will surely abound You are welcome to use Katherine's pool for a refreshing dip after if you would like
Apparel needed include hat, sunscreen, gloves, rubber/work boots and insect repellant Dress for the weather as this planting will go ahead in light rain Equipment to bring include a garden rake, garden fork, shovel and lawn seeder if you have one
This will be a great District environmental project and a chance to show our appreciation both to Katherine for a great year as District Governor, but also appreciation to our planet and environment in desperate need of our help.
Reminders plus address & driving instructions will be sent to volunteers a few days before the event. Times: Shifts are 8 to 11am and 11 to 2pm – sign up on Rotary Club of Stratford website by clicking here
Carpooling: Add your name if you need a ride or can give a ride; this is self-organizing, please get in touch with your fellow Rotarians
Friends & family are most welcome to participate (please sign them up as well) Many hands make light work! We look forward to making this a great event together!

The Rotary Club of Owen Sound is proud of its accomplishments. Whether its providing shelter during times of war or disaster, eradicating polio, building a school in the Dominican Republic, or maintaining and operating a summer camp for children of all walks of life, Rotary gives ordinary people the opportunity to do some extraordinary work. Of course none of this work is even possible without the generous support of the community, our golfers and major sponsors. If you are in a position to do so and are interested in any sponsorship opportunities for our tournament, please refer to the attached information or ask any of our Rotarians or committee members.
Previous corporate sponsors have greatly assisted in making our golf enjoyable and financially successful.
