Have you ever felt like you were drowning in questions about who you are? Are you struggling with a sense of identity, growing up without a father or mother, and wondering who you were made to be? I know that feeling. I didn8217t grow up with an affectionate father, and I was left with countless questions about my purpose and identity. There was a season in my life where my soul felt empty, and I tried to fill that void by meeting my legitimate needs in illegitimate ways. I was broken, trapped in cycles of addiction, struggling with self-hatred and low self-esteem. My addiction only numbed the pain temporarily, but it never truly healed the hurt.Though I grew up in a Christian family and knew about the Lord, I was still empty, still hurting8212especially because of the absence of my father. Throughout my childhood, I longed for fatherhood, but that was something I felt was stolen from me. In my attempts to fill that void, I only found myself in a deeper brokenness. I felt orphaned, as though true sonship was beyond my reach8212until I encountered the Father Himself.God, in His perfect fatherhood, began to heal the broken places within me. Through a revelation of Jesus, I discovered freedom from addiction, immorality, and confusion. God introduced me to the Spirit of Adoption, and with it came a new identity and a sense of true freedom. My story is a testament to what8217s possible the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. We have been adopted as sons and daughters of the Most High King, and that changes everything.
