mixed use/residential located East Lake MARTA Atlanta, GA

class: Design Studio V advisor: George Johnston

A riverkeepers’ community, is dedicated to the education, conservation, and protection of water. Water is manipulated and transformed into public displays through various design elements while maintaining functional usage. Rainwater activates the site becoming the key to beauty, education, and function.

wellness center/retreat located Sweetwater Creek State Park

class: Design Studio III advisor: Harris Dimitropoulos

The river, once an essential part of the mill, is the driver for relaxation at the wellness retreat. Openings in the ruins allow the sound of the river to rush into the space. Medicinal and vegetable gardens are used by the retreat as nature takes a hold of healing; physically, mentally, and emotionally. The design allows the user to get the full potential from their individual experience without ever feeling like they are alone.

INTERVENTION: JARDINS DE MERCE VILARET intervention in existing garden located Barcelona, Spain class: Architecture Undergraduate International Studio advisor: Mark Cottle, Ignacio Lopez Alonso partners: Sarah Shin, Rose Rewatkar

After spending a summer studying and emersing in the culture of Barcelona, we chose an existing garden, a social node, to intervene in. These gardens carved out of the blocks of Barcelona have a unique character to them. After studying and analysizing the garden we iterated through design to enhance the experience while changing as little as possible in the existing. This is my iteration.
