APPENDIX G. QUALITY COUNCIL AND PLANNING COMMITTEES
Quality Council
The Quality Council serves to provide institutional leadership and governance for college planning and reports to the College President.
Essential Functions
• Governance of institutional planning activities, including approving recommendations of strategies, priorities, processes • Coordinate strategic planning efforts among the Executive, Administrative, Student Services, and Instructional Services divisions • Ensure productivity regarding plan action items • Ensure effectiveness of assessment efforts • Prioritization of plan action items • Communicate relevant planning and assessment information to stakeholders • Review/approve additions and changes

Planning Teams
The Quality Council Planning Teams perform planning work under the direction of the Steering Committee. Each division (Executive, Administrative Services, Instructional Services, Student Services) has a planning team, and membership includes representatives from the respective divisions.
Essential Functions
Collaboration in the development of the Strategic Plan (e.g. during planning days) Propose strategies, action items, and priorities for consideration by Steering Committee Communication of planning to peers
Subcommittees
Some functions may require specific skill sets, and ad hoc subcommittees may be formed to accomplish these functions. Membership can include individuals not serving on the Quality Council. These subcommittees can be standing committees or formed as needed to complete a specific project. Subcommittees report to the Steering Committee.
