Hoax Emails
Two clients recently contacted me about emails received from HMRC and Paypal. The emails looked official with logos that looked genuine.
The HMRC email was from ‘HM R&C’, you can see immediately it looks suspicious the way the letters are written. The Paypal email address had the spelling of ‘Paypall’ and further down spelt correctly.
Both emails contained links to confirm security information. Neither HMRC nor Paypal will ask for any personal/security information from an email. They will always ask you to log into your account online on their website.
