THE COMPANY Karmsund Maritime Offshore Production AS (KaMOP®) is part of Karmsund Maritime Group, a Norwegian manufacturing and sales company. Manufacturing site is situated at Kvitsøy and sales office in Stavanger, both at the west coast of Norway. Production facilities is situated in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The company, with over 30 years of experience are specialized in manufacturing of gaskets in all types of materials. Customers are mainly from oil and gas industry, on- and offshore, and are served worldwide. Our business is to continue our efforts to improve issues relating to health, environment and safety at the workplace and in connection with the goods and services we deliver. PRODUCTS AND SERVICE KaMOP® offer mainly standard and special designed gaskets and packing material in the range from 1/2” to 46” in all types of materials. New efficient machines make KaMOP® one of a kind in Scandinavia that is available to produce gaskets up to this range. KaMOP® is certified according to NS-EN ISO 9001:2008 and NS-EN ISO 14001:2004 for security, work and environment. SUPPLIES KaMOP® stock certified standard and exotic materials, according to international standards at all time to give customers short delivery time. Custom made products - a selection

KaMOP速 offer all types of standard steel gaskets. WIRE BENDER (4.1) The KaMOP速 Patented Wire Bender for slickline 0,125 and 0,160 pear increases the efficiency when bending a metal wire. BLIND GASKET (4.2) The Blind Gasket is used to blind a line and still have the right distance between the flange. It is also a tool to use when you have problems to spread the flange.

CONCENTRIC REDUCER (4.3) The custom made reducer is built to avoid using 2-3 fittings when you need a special reduser. DUST GASKET (4.4) Karmsund Dust Gasket is used for closing pipe provisionally.

1.1 Wire Bender The Wire Bender for slickline 0,125 and 0,160 increases the efficiency when bending a slickline wire for the pear drop. Rather than going through the hassel of bending a metal wire manually, the Wire Bender completes the operation with ease. The wire is placed between the bender, followed by sealing the locking mechanism, then simply pull the henge and release the locking mechanism afterwards. Once the wire has been bent, simply apply the pear drop sleeve.

1.2 Blind Gasket

Pear Drop Sleeve

The Blind Gasket is designed according to ASME B.16.20 and it has the same measurements and dimensions as the ASME B.16.20. The Blind Gasket is used to blind a line and still have the right distance between the flange. It is also a tool to use when you have problems to spread the flange. 1.3 Concentric reduser We design and produce reducers on customer request, according to specification. The custom made reducer is built to avoid using 2-3 fittings when you need a special reduser. Normally, you would need to purchase and weld multiple parts together, which often results in an innaccurate and time consuming solution. With the custom made reducer, you get a prefabricated reducer according to specification without any extra work in regards to installation and usage of the reducer. 1.4 Dust Gasket Dust Gasket is used for closing pipe provisionally. In order for an easy removal and insertion, the Dust Gasket is equipped with a handle. Dust Gasket can be delivered in 3 types: • Style R • Style RX • Style BX Dust Gasket is available in a wide range of materials.

1.4.3 Dust Gasket Ring Joint - BX Gasket ASME B16.20 Specification Dimensional Data According to API spec 6A/ISO 10423: Type 6BX flanges are of the ring joint type and are designed with a raised face. Therefore one of the flanges in a 6BX connection shall have a raised face. The type 6BX flange shall be on the through-bolted or studded design. MATERIALS The gasket material should be selected to suit the service conditions. It is always recommended that the gasket material be softer than the mating flanges. The more popular ring joint materials, with the recommended maximum hardness and identification as specified in API 6A are shown in the table below For more highly specialized applications ring joints can be machined from duplex steels and other exotic materials such as Monel, Inconel, Incoloy and Hastelloy. As with all metallic joints, the re-use of ring joints is not recommended. During assembly and use, work hardening of the material occurs. With subsequent re-use, increased bolts loads are required to achieve similar sealing performance.

2.1 Technical information Ring Joint Gasket The ring joint was initially developed for high pressure/temperature applications found in petroleum industry, the main use being in the oil field on drilling and completion equipment. However, today this product range can also be found on valves and pipework assemblies, along with some high integrity pressure vessel joints.

RING JOINT GASKET - STYLE BX The style BX pressure energized ring joints, manufactures in accordance with API 6A, are designed for use on pressurised systems up to 20.000 psi. All BX gaskets incorporate a pressure balance hole to ensure equalisation of pressure which may be trapped in the grooves. Can also be supplied in SBX style.

Transition ring joints

Transition ring joints can be manufactured from standard materials, as well as exotic alloys. Transition ring joints are available with either oval or octagonal facing. NOTE: Transition ring joints are not in accordance with API Specification. RUBBER COATED RING JOINTS This is an oval ring joint which totally enclosed in nitril rubber coating. The ring joint material is usually soft iron or low carbon steel.

25 Rubber coated ring joints

This type of gasket has three main functions, as follows; • It is used in pressure testing to minimise damage to flanges • The rubber contact points provide additional seals while protecting the flange surface • It provides increased assurance against corrosion, which can occur between conventional ring joints and the engaged surface of the groove A wide range of standard sizes are available, with special sizes available on request. BLIND RING JOINTS Special ring joints can be manufactured to blind off flanges and pipework. They consist of standard ring joints with integral solid metallic centres.

2.3 Technical information Kammprofil The Kammprofil gasket offers a safe, effective seal under the most exacting conditions of both temperature and pressure and against virtually every known corrosive and toxic media. The excellent recovery characteristics of the facing materials allow the Kammprofil gasket to maintain a seal even under the effects of pressure and temperature fluctations, temperature differential across the flange face, flange rotation, bolt stress relaxation and creep. 2.4.1 Graphite for reusable Kammprofil Gaskets The KaMOP® Kammprofil Gasket may be used several times in installations by changing to new sealing material on the metallic core. Graphite is without doubt the premier sheet gasket material available in the market today. This totally non-toxic, high purity carbon material, containing no respirable fibres, binders, lubricating agents or other unsurpassable by any other available sealing material. Based on the same material utilized in our spiral wound gasket production, Graphite sheet gaskets provide conformable, low sealing stress seals, ideal for use on both rough and smooth flanges.

The self lubricating homogeneous structure exceptional chemical and temperature resistance ensure long service life, even in the presence of highly corrosive and toxic media. Low leachable and total chloride content aid in the avoidance of intergranular corrosion of austenitic stainless steel piping systems. 2.4.4 Spiral wound - SWG The spiral wound gasket depends upon the mechanical characteristics of a formed metal spiral strip, rather than the compressive virtues of more traditional gasket materials. The sealing strips, or fillers, are usually graphite, although other materials such as PTFE may be used, the windings are normal in SS316L. For this type of gasket to work the spiral must not be over compressed, hence one of two types of compression control is usually used The completed gasket is fitted into a steel ring of specific thickness. When the gasket is fitted into a flange and the bolt load is applied, flange closure is governed by the outer steel ring of the gasket. To further improve the pressure rating of the spiral wound gasket, a steel ring may be added to the inside. This also protects the windings, from contamination, or attack by the product.

2.4.5 Flange guards Flange guards are supplied to suit all API, ASME / ANSI, BS and MSS SP44 ring joint flanges. In the case of Style R and RX ring joints, the flange guard locates between the outside diameter of the ring joint and the outside diameter of the flange, with the corresponding bolt holes incorporated in it. For Style BX ring joints, the flange guard locates between the raised face and the outside diameter of the flange. Flange guards are manufactured from closed cell neoprene foam, which compresses readily under load. Once assembled, they protect the outside diameter of the ring joint from corrosion i.e salt spray.

Wire Lubricator - maintenance equipment for steel wires

The Wire Lubricator range provides fast and effective cleaning and lubricating of wire ropes. Wire ropes from 10mm (3/8”) to 165mm (6-1/2”) in diameter can be automatically greased at speeds up to 2,000mt per hour. Ideal for use on all cranes, towing lines and mooring lines, the Wire Lubricator eliminates the HS&E risks associated with manual lubrication. Use of the Wire Lubricator provides improved wire rope lubrication by forcing wire rope lubricant under pressure into the wire rope. Other lubricators just coat the surface of the ropes but the unique seal design of the Wire Lubricator means the “wire dwell time” in the pressure chamber is longer. Longer dwell time means greater lubricant penetration which leads to increased rope life and extended relubrication intervals.

3.1 Wire Lubricator information Wire Lubricators were introduced and improved by several Norwegian inventors in the 1980’s. The inventor Hans Knut Waage, aroused wire lubricator with rotating rubber gaskets with inner profile which is identical to the rope profile. Such maintenance equipment had not been seen in the marked before. Rotating rubber gaskets with inner profile which is identical to the rope profile give a perfect seal as well as built-in channels for returning oil and lubrication of the rope before it passes sealing. The lubricant, thick or thin, are forced into the wire rope core and into its individual strands. It happens at low pressure, no more than 3 to 6 kg is required.

Glass-reinforced plastics are also used to produce house building components such as roofing laminate, door surrounds, over-door canopies, window canopies and dormers, chimneys, coping systems, and heads with keystones and sills. The materialâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s

reduced weight and easier handling, compared to wood or metal, allows faster installation. Massproduced fiberglass brick-effect panels can be used in the construction of composite housing, and can include insulation to reduce heat loss.

4.2 Storage tanks Storage tanks can be made of fiberglass with capacities up to about 300 tonnes. Smaller tanks can be made with chopped strand mat cast over a thermoplastic inner tank which acts as a preform during construction. Much more reliable tanks are made using woven mat or filament wound fibre, with the fibre orientation at right angles to the hoop stressimposed in the side wall by the contents. Such tanks tend to be used for chemical storage because the plastic liner (oftenpolypropylene) is resistant to a wide range of corrosive chemicals. Fiberglass is also used for septic tanks.

Fiberglass (or fibreglass) is the common name for glass-reinforced plastic (GRP)[1] or alternatively glass-fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP)[2] Fiberglass is also known as GFK, for German: Glasfaserverstärkter Kunststoff. Fiberglass is a fiber reinforced polymer made of plastic reinforced by glass fibers, commonly woven into a mat. The plastic may be a thermosetting plastic- most often epoxy, polyester- or vinylester or a thermoplastic. The glass fibers are made of various types of glass depending upon the fiberglass use. These glasses all contain silica or silicate, with varying amounts of oxides of calcium, magnesium, and sometimes boron. Boron-containing fiberglasses consume half the global production of boron minerals, and are the largest commercial consumer of the element. Fiberglass is a strong lightweight material and is used for many products. Although itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s not as strong and stiff as carbon fiber it is less brittle, and its raw materials are much cheaper. Its bulk strength and weight are also better than many metals, and it can be more readily molded into complex shapes. Applications of fiberglass include, aircraft, boats, automobiles, bath tubs and enclosures, hot tubs, septic tanks, water tanks, roofing, pipes, cladding, casts, surfboards, and external door skins.

4.4 Fiberglass hand lay-up operation A release agent, usually in either wax or liquid form, is applied to the chosen mold to allow finished product to be cleanly removed from the mold. Resin—typically a 2-part polyester, vinyl or epoxy—is mixed with its hardener and applied to the surface. Sheets of fibreglass matting are laid into the mold, then more resin mixture is added using a brush or roller. The material must conform to the mold, and air must not be trapped between the fiberglass and the mold. Additional resin is applied and possibly additional sheets of fiberglass. Hand

pressure, vacuum or rollers are used to be sure the resin saturates and fully wets all layers, and that any air pockets are removed. The work must be done quickly, before the resin starts to cure, unless high temperature resins are used which will not cure until the part is warmed in an oven.[9] In some cases, the work is covered with plastic sheets and vacuum is drawn on the work to remove air bubbles and press the fiberglass to the shape of the mold.[10]

4.5 Fiberglass spray lay-up operation The fiberglass spray lay-up process is similar to the hand lay-up process, but differs in the application of the fiber and resin to the mold. Spray-up is an openmolding composites fabrication process where resin and reinforcements are sprayed onto a mold. The resin and glass may be applied separately or simultaneously

“chopped” in a combined stream from a chopper gun. Workers roll out the spray-up to compact the laminate. Wood, foam or other core material may then be added, and a secondary spray-up layer imbeds the core between the laminates. The part is then cured, cooled and removed from the reusable mold.

MATERIALS The gasket material should be selected to suit the service conditions. It is always recommended that the gasket material be softer than the mating flanges. The more popular ring joint materials, with the recommended maximum hardness and identification as specified in API 6A are shown in the table below For more highly specialized applications ring joints can be machined from Duplex steels and other exotic materials such as Monel, Inconel, Incoloy and Hastelloy. As with all metallic joints, the re-use of ring joints is not recommended. During assembly and use, work hardening of the material occurs.
