“A designer has a duty to create timeless design. To be timeless you have to think really far into the future, not next year, not in two years but in 20 years minimum.” – Phillip Starck. This Phillip Starck description of a designer’s duty is as relevant as ever and has recently become my motto. The concept of his ‘democratic design' to make a good quality design affordable is appealing to me. And thinking of 20 years into the future I will keep in mind the importance of sustainable and eco-friendly design.
