What Is
Educational Publishing?

Educational publishing is the branch of publishing that focuses on generating texts and resources designed to facilitate learning. Materials are produced directly to benefit schools and students at all levels, from primary school to university and training.
The types of materials educational publishers work with may include textbooks, study guides, indexes and abstracts. They may also include nonprint media such as digital programmes and resources for students. Those who work in educational publishing are invested in developing new ways of learning and teaching and in the sharing of information.
Academic publishing is not the same as educational publishing. Instead, academic publishers distribute works based on academic research, such as journals, papers, textbooks and other non-fiction books. Many academic publishers today offer Open Access content online.
