Taimur Sadat and Mimosha Alam - Directors, Kare Plus Rugby
“Healthcare will always have people at its core. AI doesn’t work here – people who need care will always need people to care for them.”
Taimur Sadat had no previous healthcare experience when he opened Kare Plus Rugby in June last year but the former civil servant, alongside his co-director and wife Mimosha Alam, were already billing care home hours within six months of opening and have continued to grow at pace into 2024
With their CQC registration submitted and just awaiting final confirmation to introduce home care services, Taimur and Mimosha’s business is very much on the up
So why did a tax specialist working for the DWP and HMRC choose to leave that career behind and invest in a Kare Plus franchise? The answer is simple: Family.

Mimosha worked in the NHS for several years as an admin manager, co-ordinating a team of 25 people in a role not all that different from managing a team of agency nurses and healthcare assistants Her father also became ill and after two weeks in hospital, only option the NHS had for recuperative care was time away from his family in a care home.
“Despite his family being able to look after him at home, which we absolutely wanted to do with the support of a home care company where needed, it just wasn’t an option,” she said“They wouldn’t keep him in hospital but they wouldn’t let us bring him home either”
Taimur said with Mimosha’s background and their recent experiences, he knew he wanted to launch his own business offering those services they hadn’t been given as a family “Recovery is in a much better place when you’re at home, with your own people around you to just give you a bit of extra help,” he added “Family can get a break with the home care and it was ultimately the home care side we were interested in when we looked to open our own business.
“It’s a growing market and a lot of people prefer to stay home rather than go into a care home We wanted to make a difference, as we have such a passion for it”Mimosha added: “Care is personal and you need a person to care for you – you will always actually need people.”

“I have a bachelor’s degree, master’s and a doctorate, plus several years experience in the civil service, which I believe are valuable transferable skills to the healthcare industry
