exchanging ideas and information

From The Director Exciting News Announcement from Barbara King, The Exchange Club Family Center Executive Director This past fiscal year of 2013-2014 has been a really exceptional year for the Center, and one that we can be proud of for years to come. During this time, our decision to merge the Center with CASA has met all of our expectations and more. Through this outreach we have been able to serve hundreds of additional abused and neglected children in Juvenile Court seeking safe, permanent homes. We also were extremely proud to be selected as the “Best Place to Work” for a business of our size by The Commercial Appeal Top Workplaces! We all knew that we are the best place, but now this award confirms it. We now have 47 staff members and many of them trained and supervised over 80 graduate / doctoral level interns and 9 AmeriCorps members during the last 12 months. In addition, we have been working with a consulting firm, Bridgespan, for the last 6 months, and with their guidance we are strengthening our infrastructure and planning for an exciting future. Every staff member was involved in these discussions, as well as a committee of Board members, and all of us felt that this was an extremely positive process with a lot of good suggestions that we will put into place in the months to come. Next year promises to be even better and we all can be proud of where we are, and will be, in accomplishing our goal of positively changing children’s lives and giving them hope for a future free of child abuse and domestic violence. Thank you to everyone who has helped us in our 30 year journey to make these efforts possible.

Mission Statement The mission of The Exchange Club Family Center is to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect by providing prevention, intervention, educational, and support services to families in an effort to replace abusive and violent behavior with effective parenting skills.
