Creating my Classroom/Remote Learning

Management Plan

Participate and Assist

Philosophical Statement

My Classroom Management Plan

My set of ideas, values, beliefs, and goals to have an effective remote learning management is first, to treat my students fairly. I believed that it is very important to maintain a good relationship with them in order to have a good communication that will never end. As their mentor, I will teach them to give respect to the others and even to give a value on a small thing. I also want them to feel secured in a classroom, were they feel the loved and care from me and to their classmates. I also teach them to be honest in all the things that is going through and also the proper disciplined must be employ to my students in order for them to be aware and have limitation in all the things that they do.

Classroom Rules and Procedures

The classroom rules and procedures that I will establish to ensure the discipline of my students are: be honest, and tell the truth, don’t cheat, always give respect to the teacher and either on their classmates, pass the requirements on time or onwards, for those students who pass their activity late they will have a deduction, always participate in a class discussion each of students have a task in the activity for them to have their own learning and they always move and do their task. I believe that those rules that I will establish to ensure the discipline of my students will be working since everyone is being aware in a classroom rules and management and it will lead them to be a responsible learner.

Teacher-Student Relationship

BEEd-IV

A good relationship between teacher and students should be maintain in order to be comfortable with each other. To ensure the good relationship with the students, teacher must be observant in order to know the situation of her students that they may experience in class. So that the teacher should be aware on the things that her students will be go through in class. In terms of learning, I want my students to enjoy their study I don’t want to pressure them but I want them to see helping each other on the lesson that hard for their classmate to understand. A teacher also should feel to the students that he/she always on their side, if the students had a problem it is easy for the students to talk to her teacher and the teacher do is to comfort the students. But the teacher should always explain to their students to know the limitation.

Schedules and Timeframes

In terms of time and scheduling I will organize first the activity that I will give to my students so that it will be easy for the students to know what they should do in the activity. After that I will explain to them on what allotted time they should finish the activity. To keep the class interactive and collaborative I will make sure that each of the class should participate in the activity and in the group discussion.

Classroom Structure, Design and Arrangements

Having a bulletin board inside a classroom that contains important information, an announcement for every month activity, posting student’s work, and quotation will have a big impact to all the learners were they are motivated to excel an effort for their study. I will creative a conducive learning environment in my classroom were the learners are far from the distraction, I can assure that they will become more focus on their learning by providing them a instructional materials like TV for watching videos for them to easily understand the lesson, I will provide also a books, and helping them to be smarter in using computer through having a lesson in the computer laboratory every week.

Classroom Safety Rules and Procedures

To ensure the safety and security of my learners first, I will provide a medicine kit that they can use for the possible something that can happen inside the school. The next step that I can do is to explain to them on how they can use it and on how to apply each of the medicine so that the learners have a knowledge on how to use it. Aside from this, I also tell to them that they should be careful in using words for their classmates or anyone who have a conversation to them to avoid the verbal bullying. Creating a friendly environment for my learners to make sure that there will be no harm that can’t happen inside the classroom.

Strategies for Rewards and Consequences

I do believe that each of the teacher should appreciate the small or big effort of our learners, since everyone is giving their time to excel an effort to comply their requirements or grades. For those learners who still trying hard for their study, one thing that they need is motivation to become more appreciated on the things that they do. My type of strategies that I will employ to my learners are; giving a material rewards for those students who have a good grade, who excel their effort to make their work beautiful not only the material but the words of appreciation for each learners who try their hard work. I also employ to my class the classroom rules and procedures so that everyone is accountable for their actions and I will discuss with them the consequence they might get when they do something inappropriate.

After reading and reviewing the classroom/remote learning management plan from different sources and creating your own plan, answer the following questions.

1. What salient components have you noted?

As a future teacher, I think the salient components that I had noted are first, teacher should be a role model to all the learners, because as I can I see to them they give a high value and respect to all the teachers and they easily listen to us. We keep on our mind and eyes with them to become aware on each student needs so that no students will never left behind. Treat them fairly and no favoritism that can happen to recognize each of the students in class.

2. Why is there a need to utilize the information to create your classroom management plan?

There is a need to utilize the information to create a classroom management plan because it will serve or guide to managing the classroom effectively. Utilizing the information properly well help the class as and engaging and effective one. Everyone must be responsible and aware on their actions, and if the classroom management plan is working on class then it effective on the learners.

3. What were the significant things that you noticed when you were implementing your plan?

The significant things that I had notice in implementing my plan is that planning is very crucial to have a well-managed and organized classroom. Putting a plan will help to organized an effective classroom. It also helps me to become responsible to meet the needs of my learners were I am aware on the things that suited with them. As a future teacher having a plan is more helpful on me so that I am aware on the things that suited for my future learner since I have a knowledge on what important information that will fit to them.

4. Were the items in your classroom/remote learning management plan which were not tailored to the needs of your students? How will you improve these?

No, because all the items in my classroom/remote learning management plan meet the needs of the students because as I as think those plan I assure that it is for the sake of my learners and to think that it is effective to them.

1. What elements in your classroom/remote learning management plan were mostly followed/complied with?

The good relationship between teacher and student, discipline is being employ, be honest, give respect to anyone and giving an appreciation words to all my learners were mostly followed in my remote learning management plan. I think those I had mentioned were mostly followed since I will apply it to my classroom, and I set my self as an example to them to become responsible.

2. What elements in your plan were the most difficult to implement? Why?

I think the most difficult to implement is the scheduling and Don’t cheat. As I can see there is a time that the time allotted we give for the activity is not fit to the learners they need more time to think for the best answer. Don’t cheat were the most difficult to implement since the learners are find their ways to copy the answer of their seatmates though you tell to them that it is not appropriate.

What were your realizations after creating and implementing your classroom/remote learning management plan?

My realizations after creating and implementing my remote learning management plan is that, it is helpful and useful to utilize the information to have an effective classroom, and it also help the classroom to be active and responsible one. Having a plan for creating my remote learning help the classroom to be wellmanaged and organized one. Always meet the needs of every learner so that no students will be left behind in the classroom. I also realized that the students should be the one of any management plan because it is designed for them. Having those realizations that I had mentioned will assist me for my own development and improvement.

4. Describe how the students responded and participated. With the help of my resource/materials the students are curios on what we will do and at I see to them that they are actively participating but when it comes on passing the activity some are being late to pass their works.

What worked well during the activity using the resources/materials?

With the help of those resources materials it become easy for the students to understand the lesson since all the explanation put on the learning materials and what I do is to elaborate and always ask them if they understand the lesson.

NOTICE
ANALYZE

What part can be improved?

I think I need to improve the relevant resource that I shared to my students, for them to avoid the mislead information.

What would you have done differently? What would I change? What will make it better next time?

The things that I will make it better next time is to think or look for the best and helpful resources where my students can easily understand the lesson. I will also look for the Plan B incase that is something happened to my classes so that his will help me to prepared and effective one.

How does this connect with what you know about selecting and using instructional materials?

This will be a guide for me to become responsible and to avoid cramming when something happened in the class. This will also help me to become creative and resourceful in thinking the different strategies that will suit to the interest of my students.

REFLECT

1. How ready am I in selecting and developing resources/instructional materials in the teachinglearning process?

I cannot deny the fact that I am surely prepared in selecting and developing instructional materials in the teaching-learning process because I am still learning on what is the best strategy and instructional materials that is appropriate to my learners. I learn on how know to be responsible on selecting the suited materials for the class to be active and engaging one.

2. What do I still need to learn to select and develop resources/instructional materials in teaching effectively?

The things that I need to learn in selecting and developing the resources materials is on how I can be creative, resourceful, on how I become smart in using the technology when I am dealing and communicating to my students. I need to learn on how I make my class as engaging and fun when it comes to the activities and lesson.

3. What can I do to learn more about and practice the use of resources and instructional materials?

I think having a practice demo teaching will develop my skills on the use of resources and instructional materials, this will test my ability on selecting the suited resources in my teaching. I always pay attention on how I improve the use of resources through reading online, watching on the you tube, and through attending the webinar.

Selecting and Preparing your Instructional materials

1. Do the materials fit to the objectives?

• Materials should fit the objectives of the course, unit plan and the lesson plan.

2. Are the materials well organized?

• MUST relate facts to few basic ideas and concepts.

3. Do the materials prepare the students for the presentation?

• Objectives or advance organizers

4. Are the materials well designed?

• L.A.C.A.R.A

5. Have the materials been presented in a technically appropriate manner.

• Not “over presented” neither “under presented”

6. Do the materials provide sufficient repeatition through examples, illustrations, questions and summaries to enhance understanding of content?

• Student diversity

7. Is the material suitable to the reading level of the students?

• Using STE (Standard Readability Estimate)

8. Does the difficulty of the materials match the abilities of the students?

• Motivation and interest driven

https://designteachengage.wisc.edu/instructionalmaterials/

Instructional materials are the content or information conveyed within a course. These include the lectures, readings, textbooks, multimedia components, and other resources in a course. These materials can be used in both faceto-face and online classrooms; however, some must be modified or redesigned to be effective for the online environment. The best instructional materials are aligned with all other elements in the course, including the learning objectives, assessments, and activities.

Instructional materials provide the core information that students will experience, learn and apply during a course. They hold the power to either engage or demotivate students. This is especially true for online courses which rely on a thoughtful and complete collection of instructional materials that students will access. Explore, absorb, and references as they proceed in a course. Therefore, such materials must be carefully planned, selected, organized, refined, and use in a course for the maximum effect. The planning and selection of instructional materials should take into consideration both the breadth and depth of content so that student learning is optimized.

On what theories/principles can this problem be anchored?

I think this is related to the environmentalist theory because the idea that presented by our environmentalists contribute on shaping the learning and behaviors of the students. If our environment is not healthy or friendly it can affect to the learning of the students. We assume that young learners develop and acquire new knowledge by reading to their surroundings.

3. What do I hope to achieve to address the challenges/area of improvement? What change do I want to achieve?

I will pay my attention on reading online on how can I overcome this issues. I want also to address this to the professional teachers on how I can improve and developing my skills on selecting the appropriate instructional materials that will get the interest of my students when I am in the field.

4. What strategies/solutions/means can I employ to improve this situation/solve the problem?

Pay attention on developing and improving my skills regarding to this issue. I will watch and read online on dealing with the different instructional materials that can help me in my teaching.

5. If you will conduct action research, what will be the title (Base this on your answers in nos. 1-3): “The Effectiveness of Using Instructional Materials on Delivering the Lesson Effectively.”

Work on My Artifacts

Attach the pieces of evidence of what you accomplished in this episode.

1. Did the formative assessment tasks help students master what they were expected to learn? Yes, because the formative assessment tasks help the students to evaluate their own learning and it also its build their knowledge to continually improve the learning. So with the help of the assessment task it help the student to master what they were expected to learn since the task help to measure their own learning and it help them to recall on what they learned from the subject itself.

2. Was students’ response to formative assessment exercises favorable or unfavorable? Why?

It is favorable because the students are able to finish the task with their own understanding and off course the guide of the teacher is continually to better exercise the understanding of the students. It also builds their knowledge to continually improve their own learning.

3. Did the conduct of formative assessment and self-assessment affect students’ attainment of learning outcomes? How?

Yes, its affect the attainment of the learning outcome of the students because the formative and assessment task determine if the students attain the learning outcomes on the task that was done. So if the students are struggling on the attainment of the learning outcomes then he/she not able to answer or understand the formative assessment. With the help of this two assessment the teachers are able to improve the teaching strategy that will meet the interest of the students.

4. What was the effect of student assessing their own progress on their motivation to learn? It is important that the students can assess their own progress in a way that they can used it to excel an effort to the lesson that they are struggling with. They find more ways on how to improve the lesson and they will also know on what is their strengths and weaknesses on coping the lesson. So that it will enhance their knowledge and abilities on the things that are suffering with.

How would attainment of learning outcomes be affected if there were no formative assessment nor selfassessments

It would be difficult to determine the attainment of the learning outcome if there is no formative assessment nor-self-assessment, because the teacher could not determine if the students really understand the lesson. So if there is no formative assessment that is not prepare for the students then the teacher could not have any evidence that the students attain the said learning outcome of the lesson.

1. One thing that went well in the development / use / administration of formative assessment tasks (assessment for learning) is to discover the areas of uncertainty or frequent misunderstanding. It allows the teacher to assess, to measure which pupil grasp that needs a further assistance.

2. One thing that did not go very well in the development/ use / administration of formative assessment tasks (assessment for learning) is the students could not determine the purpose of the formative assessment so that it may result to the student to could not attain the learning outcome.

3. One good thing observed in students’ self-assessment (assessment as learning) is it can improve their own learning, abilities, skills by allowing themselves to evaluate their own progress. They also reflect on their evaluation for the better understanding of the lesson.

4. One thing in students’ self-assessment (assessment as learning) that needs improvement based on what were observed is to increase the abilities and knowledge for the better learning and understanding.

The formative assessment activities went well because the teachers are able to use formative assessment to discover the areas of uncertainty or frequent misunderstanding. It also works for the students to discover the self-evaluation that may lead to them to become responsible on achieving the learning outcomes of the lesson.

The formative assessment activities process did not go well because some students are not able to achieve the learning outcomes. Since they don’t know what is the purpose of having a formative assessment.

For the students, self-assessment worked because they are able to assess their own learning, it challenges themselves on evaluating their own progress of understanding. It also helps them to reflect on the result of their assessment on assessing what is the strengths and weaknesses that they will go through on the lesson.

For the students, self-assessment did not work because they did not take seriously the feedback of the teacher so it results to them to have a poor understanding on the task.

OBSERVE REFLECT

To ensure that formative and self-assessment processes serve their purpose, to help students learn, I will learn from other’s best practices by researching the best strategy or method of teaching that is suited to my learners. I will also help my students on the lesson that they are struggling with to achieve the desire learning outcomes of the lesson.

To help improve formative and self-assessment practices, I plan to conduct an action research on this title “The Impact of Feedback on the Self-Assessment of the Students”
