Artistic Director Barry Shiffman’s classical season starts with the incomparable men’s a cappella ensemble Chanticleer, renowned pianists including Charlie Albright and Isata Kanneh-Mason, a holiday concert by the Boston Brass, the legendary Zukerman Trio, an intriguing program from the critically acclaimed Horszowski Trio and a powerhouse program from all-star members of the Chamber Society of Lincoln Center. The folk and pop series brings such stars as the great Suzanne Vega, mandolin showstopper Chris Thile and veteran alternative rock heroes 10,000 Maniacs. Jazz concerts feature the heady and dynamic pianist Jason Moran and a set from the always alluring vocalist Stacey Kent. We also bring back our high definition broadcasts from the Metropolitan Opera, National Theatre of England and the Bolshoi Ballet.

Under the direction of their new musical director Joshua Weilerstein, the acclaimed Phoenix Orchestra is renowned for its energetic playing, versatile programming and an individualistic approach to larger orchestral repertoire. The Horszowski Trio has quickly become a vital force in the international chamber music world. Since their debut performance in New York City in 2011, they have toured extensively throughout North America, Europe, the Far East and India, traversing the extensive traditional piano trio repertoire and introducing audiences to new music that they have commissioned and premiered. The trio performs music of Bernstein, Shostakovich and Smetana.
With famed violinist Pinchas Zukerman at the helm, the Zukerman Trio, rounded out by cellist Amanda Forsyth and pianist Shai Wosner, has been thrilling audiences for close to a decade. Formed out of the acclaimed Zukerman Chamber Players, the Zukerman Trio formed in 2013 and has gone on to perform at the world’s greatest stages and festivals. A two-time Grammy winner, Zukerman is also the Principal Guest Conductor of London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

ISATA KANNEH-MASON, piano Recipient of the 2021 Leonard Bernstein Award and a 2020 Opus Klassik award for best young artist, pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason is a tour-de-force. As a member of the Kanneh-Mason family, she also won the 2021 Best Classical Artist at the Global Awards. In 2021, she released Summertime, a journey through the varied piano repertoire of 20th-century America featuring Samuel Barber and Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
