Inspired by the idyllic pictures of natural pools around the world, Ecologists, Kevan and Karen Zunckel have converted their swimming pool in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. The study of natural pools is a relatively new science with a bias towards European conditions and the little knowledge available is kept under proprietary information.
