Sinhalese New Year Festival was held at Gardena in the suburbs of Los Angeles on 18th April. The event was well attended. A lot of traditional games were performed similar to the ones seen in new year celebrations in Sri Lanka. SriLankan Airlines participated with a FlySmiLes promotion campaign where those who signed up on that day were given bonus miles. FlySmiLes is the Frequent Flyer Program of SriLankan Airlines.
East Coast Cricket Festival 2009 - NewJersey

he Forth Annual East-Coast Cricket Festival 2009 organized by the Ananda Collage Old Boys’ Association, East Coast Chapter, was held at Tall Timbers Park, South Brunswick, New Jersey on Saturday, 13th June and was attended by a large number of Sri Lankan and American guests from the East Coast States of USA. SriLankan Airlines participated with a FlySmiLes membership drive where non members instantly received bonus miles upon enrollment. The second prize for the Raffle Draw was an economy class return air ticket courtesy SriLankan Airlines from London to Colombo.
