Summer spider season has begun, according to experts:’Encounters likely.’
It’s officially spider season in southern Australia, which means more of these eight-legged arachnids will be visiting our homes.
According to Graham Milledge, the Australian Museum’s Arachnology Collection Manager, spider season has begun in most regions of Australia.
According to Mr. Milledge, this is the time of year when spiders emerge to assist in the capture of annoying domestic insects and flies.
“This is the time of year when spider populations often grow due to rising temperatures and prey richness,” Mr. Milledge noted. Spiders are the most common poisonous animals in Australia, with an estimated 10,000 species spread over the nation.
