Package Design

Beverage Design Inspired by one of my favorite brewing companies, Stone Brewing, I was given the chance to create my own twist on a hard seltzer that could be added to their collection of beverages. The goal was to design a hard seltzer bottle that would provide a more “manlier” look. I achieved the goal by giving the packaging an overall asethetic that was inpired by biker themes.

Sustainable Package A sustainable take on Ernie Ball guitar strings. Current packaging for guitar strings consists of excess plastic wrappers and packets. To reduce the extra material I decided to create a package with an easy to fold, easy to seal dieline. Using recycled heavy-weight paper I created a box envelope for the guitar strings. It was also important that I stayed true to Ernie Ball’s brand asethetic. My use of graphics complemented their look it and was still recognizable as their own product.

Flexible Package A collaborative packaging challenge that we were given to create a new flexible design for an already existing prodcut. A colleague and I decided to invent something completely new and enter it in a packaging design competition. We came up with a flex pack design for to-go cereal packaging. Our design would package the needed elements to eat cereal, all in one compostable packet. We took our invention through numerous tests and experiments to assure it would function as it was designed to.

Information Design

Info Graphic Meant to be hung on a wall for science classes, I created an informational piece based on the two groups of signs scientists look for to determine if life exists on a planet. Taking inspiration from NASA’s web graphics and studying the look of other space related informational graphics, pushed me to design an easy, yet attentiongrabbing flow of information.

Corporate Identity

Branding Given the task to create a brand presence for a company. For this company I needed to design an overall look that would reflect that of a 1920’s themed nightclub. I created and applied a design asethetic across mulitple mediums to help connect appearances between modern and vintage.

Logo Rebrand I was given the opportunity to work with a company that needed rebranding. To create a logo that would better represent their brand I sketched numerous different types of logos: word marks, letter marks, pictoral, and abstract. With the brand being a skateboard company I worked with incorporating imagery of skateboards within the logos. I then finalized four different logos for each category to allow the client a limited choice.

Web & Digital

Clothing App/Banner Ads Application design for a clothing company. This task challenged me to use typography within the limited screen space and size restrictions of an app/web banners. Understanding the flow and asethetic of an application was key for completing this design challenge.

Personal Work

Warhol Inspired Collage Taking inspiration from Andy Warhol, I utilized elements of collage, color, and duplication of imagery to mimic his style and create my own artwork.

Photography A collection of photographs that express my personal style. My overall interests focus on abstract architectural imagery, abstract portraiture, and textural photography.

Collateral

Album Art Taking inspiration from the group Tycho’s Scott Hansen, I designed this album cover to fit amongst his collection but with my own twist. Incorporating ancient sculpture with modern aesthetics creates art that compliments the music of Tycho.

Festival Mailer/Tickets Download Festival is the world’s biggest 3-day rock and roll festival. I created this series with a direct mail piece that features information about the event, a keepsake poster, and tickets for the event. By utilizing their mascot, I was able to bring a modern twist to the old school look and feel of rock and roll.

Community Supported Arts As part of a 48-hour collaborative design challenge, I designed the postcards for the New Hazlett Theater. Our goal was to encourage individuality while keeping a consistent branding for the theater. This was acheived by incorporating a different color for each act while using a similar design theme across all postcards.

Senior Capstone Skateboard brand funding children with attention deficiencies.

Logo/Character For the brand’s aesthetic to work I wanted a set of free-hand drawn characters/logos. I needed a family-friendly look while also having an appearance that fit amongst the skater brand logo styles that are currently trending.

Apparel Every item in the RailBiter skateshop was designed to be torn, stained, painted, aged, etc. This brand aesthetic was built on the importnace of expressing individuality. The blank canvas style provides a unique opportunity for self-expression and entices personal manipulation of each item. Anyone has the freedom to make each piece as unique as themselves and is encouraged to share their creations amongst others.

Website Mockup Just like the design of the products, the theme of the website follows the same idea for the brand. Creating a blank canvas for the community through differrent events. Creators will also be able to submit their own work; giving them a chance to have their artwork selected for the background of the website. The costomization of the brand and website is comlpetely up to its followers; thus making a community of co-creators and encouraging individuality.

Freelance Work

Brand Deliverables I came across a unique opportunity to provide branding and deliverables for a local landscaping company in need of an established visual presence. After discussing with the owners Jake and Mike, I gathered the basis of the look and feel. Both of them are athletes and have a passion for fitness, so I ensured that the design had a bold and energetic. After researching many sports teams and athletic apparel companies I designed multiple renditions of logos until we found the one they loved. From there I decided to give them the two color branding, high-visibility yellow and black. This was a perfect choice to make sure they’re seen but also worked hand in hand with the sporty theme of the typography.

Agency Work

Car Dealership Monthly Graphics Working at Stream Companies I was in charge of creating and providing monthly visuals for multiple car dealerships across the country. Every month we were given the task to produce quality incentive advertisements within a short time period. I designed across many mediums for advertising ranging from direct mailers, website header graphics, to billboards, etc. Some of the high-demand work you see here are examples of a few website slides that I produced for a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership.
