POWERFUL STORMS can damage power lines. If you see a downed power line: n

Stay at least 50 feet away from it and assume it is energized. The ground may also be energized making the entire area extremely dangerous.

n

Never touch anything that is touching a downed power line. It is as dangerous as the line itself.

n

If a power line falls on your vehicle while you are in it, stay inside your vehicle until help arrives.

1. Kanabec County Court Report 2. Sheriff making progress to get K-9 : The Kanabec County Sheriff ’s will soon have a new member of their law enforcement team — one of the four-legged variety. The KCSO is taking steps to training and acquiring a police dog. The KCSO does not currently have a K-9 unit —which can take considerable dedication from both the KCSO, the officer designated as the dog’s handler, and the handler’s family. 3. New Millie mural installed: An enormous new mural was just completed on a stairway landing wall close to the kindergarten and third grade classrooms. The creation of “Millie” the Mustang, in the official school branding style, was a project requested by Randy Qual, the Mora Elementary School principal. The biggest challenge of creating this mural was the sheer size of the ideas. For example, the top of Millie’s mane is 16 feet off the floor. Are you a current print subscriber?
