CCDI partners with KAMERS for second year The Cape Craft and Design Institute (CCDI), as the Western Cape’s sector development organisation for craft and design, is proud to partner with KAMERS for a second year and looks forward to another remarkable event featuring some of SA’s very best in handcrafted creativity. “After such a successful event last year at the Castle, we are excited to be partnering again with KAMERS this year at another special landmark in Cape Town in the form of the City Hall,” says Doreen Hendricks, Cape Craft and Design Institute’s Market Support Coordinator. “We had such a diversity of creative talent and fresh product ideas at last year’s event and we are sure this year it will be just as delightful for the many thousands of visitors who attend.” The CCDI aims to help local craft producers and designers to build on their strengths, and provides support in areas where they need it. The organisation assists these creative individuals through business training, product development support and market access opportunities to grow into confident and successful business owners, continually developing their business, their income and impact in their marketplace. Assisting with market support is one of the core areas of focus at the CCDI. “Marketing and selling your product or service is critical to building a sustainable business. We assist in opening a range of relevant channels, from local craft markets to national and international trade and consumer events, as well as supporting B2B matchmaking. We help prepare craft producers and designers to make the most of these opportunities,” says Hendricks. The focus of the CCDI’s Market Support programme is to open up a wide variety of opportunities for craft producers and designers to enter the market; and to create platforms from which leads, orders and sales can be generated. Market Support provides opportunities for all levels of designers and craft producers – from emerging through to export-ready. Market Support opportunities include: Craft and Designer-Maker Markets Trade and Consumer Shows – National and International Scheduled events for the year Export Markets Matchmaking To access these opportunities, register as a member of the CCDI at www.ccdi.org.za. There is no membership fee. Once registered with the CCDI, members will receive updates on market opportunities and can fill in an application forms online.
