About Me

My name is Kale, a senior industrial designer and also a mechanical designer.

I have many years working experience in industrial design and CMF, including 6 years experience in mechanical design, including monitor module、consumer electronics device.

Therefore, I am able to carry out a project from concept proposal to mass production independently. Many of products I designed are on the market, among them, the smart home devices won the Taiwan excellence award in 2017.

I worked in China from 2018 to 2021. I play a role of team leader and project manager. My main mission is make project goals and plans、 tasks distribution and design integration, and giving guidance and suggestions to team members so that the project can proceed smoothly.

Overseas work experience gave me a broader perspective. Whether it is manufacturer communication or work culture, there are completely different experiences.

I have the courage to take on challenges, and I also have strong adaptability. Additionally, I hope to continue to improve and develop. I am looking for an opportunity where I can fully utilize my talents and skills.

Company : JEBSEE ELECTRONICS CO.,LTD

Description

The vehicle electronics device for Radioshack.

It was a series of power inverters, there was a 75W device, two 150w devices and a 350W device.

#Please refer to the NO.01 on portfolio#

Responsibility

I was in charge of this project. I made a presentation for 75W device, and confirmed by client. Then I did the other three proposals.

Business Value

After all proposals were confirmed by the customer, they immediately placed the first order worth over 100 million. It was the company's single largest order in recent years. The client also announced that they would continue the cooperation.

PROJECTS EXPERIENCE

Project : E-Long i-stand

Oct 2010~Feb 2011

Company : Hong-Yu Products Design CO.,LTD

Description

The tablet rack which can adjust three differnt angles. The customer took three functional mock-ups and a poster to display in CES 2011.

#Please refer to the NO.06 on portfolio#

Responsibility

Project : Relay2

Indoor AP

Aug 2017~Dec 2017

This is a design studio. I finished this project independently including customer consult、estimated、designed、color plan、arrangement and schedule of mock-up、poster layout.

Business Value

After CES, customer responded that there were visitors want to buy the model everyday since they took those models to be products.

So our customer had to explained that all exhibits were just mock-ups. And the project started tooling and manufactured. In most cases, customers whom did designers get in touch with are vendors instead of users. I found my production was liked by users, it is the biggest encouragement for designer.

Company : Amigo Technology, INC

Description

It was the first commercial specification product in company. the standard of product test were different from the past, there were no any precedent to reference.

#Please refer to the NO.02 on portfolio#

Responsibility

I pitched a proposal with another designer, and I ultimately won the project. Due to the project manager's lack of experience, I took on not only the role of project designer, but also the role of project leader. During the project implementation process, I needed to track the specifications and progress of the components with the procurement department. Additionally, when doing the mechanical design, I also needed to confirm with the hardware engineer whether the materials and placement of the components would affect the product performance.

Subsequently, I led the entire project, effectively communicating and integrating with all the departments. This included overseeing the progress of the mold trial production, and arranging for the testing department to schedule the testing work.

Business Value

There were no any precedent to reference, I could only explore step by step. It had to pass the drop test from 90 CM before shipment. After adjusted during mold trial, it passed.

Moreover, finding a solution for high temperatures while using the commercial specification chip for the first time was challenging. The initial solution of using a thermal pad with a metal heatsink passed the test, but the hardware engineer pointed out that the metal heatsink would impact the performance of the 5G chip. After numerous experiments, I switched to a ceramic heatsink and introduced a graphene sheet. Eventually, it passed the oven test at a temperature of 40 degrees.

The chip's surface temperature remained below 95 degrees under full load.
