スイスで生まれた私の日本の建築事務所で働きたいという動機は、日本の建 築と文化をより深く理解したいという形強い思いからきています。ヨーロッ パの建築と比べ、日本の建築の機能的で独特な考え方やアプローチについ て学びたいと思っています。スイスでは普通高校から直接大学に行く方法だ けではなく、私がすすんだ4年間建築専門の高等学校へ通いながら建築設計 事務所で働きながら製図士の見習いとして働くことができます。私はこの会 社での経験と学び、そして後の大学での学びを通して技術的・構成的な製図 やツールを習得しただけでなく、建築のデザイン的側面に対する理解も深め ることができました。2024年夏にスイスの大学を卒業の後、日本で働きなが ら今後の自分の方向性を見つけて行きたいと考えています。気さくでオープ ンマインド、信頼していただける性格で、チームの中でのコミュニケーション も得意としています。4年間高等学校在学中にスイスの建築設計事務所で働 いた経験も活かせることと思います。日本で建築への情熱を育み、建築プロ ジェクトの実現に貢献させて頂けることを楽しみにしています。

Mit einer Höhe von mehr als 60 Metern ist der Neubau der Fachhochschule faktisch ein Hochhaus, als Bautyp hingegen ein Ho aus. Empfang und Aula, Mensa und Cafeteria gruppieren sich um das Atrium im Eingangsgeschoss, Hörsäle sowie Seminarräume für alle Hochschulen im ersten und zweiten Obergeschoss. Mittels sechs Treppen die das Atrium über drei Stockwerke kreuz und quer durchschneiden gelangt man zum Piano nobile, einem o en ausgebildeten Bibliothekgeschoss, wo sich Weite und Transparenz erö nen. 05 07
Stärker als anderswo setzen in der Stadtregion Basel die wichtigen ö entlichen Funktionen vertikale Akzente, so auch der kubische Neubau der FHNW. Ihm vorgelagert sind ein repräsentativer Platz und ein Park als Empfangsraum für die Ankommenden und Erholungszone für Schule und Gemeinde.
Die neue Wohnüberbauung des Eggbühl Areals umschliesst mit den bestehenden Gewerbebauten ei-nen grosszügigen Innenhof. Dieser ist über eine breite Lücke mit einer parkartigen Grünanlage ver-bunden, die im Norden und Osten an die Siedlung grenzt und ein attraktives Potenzial des Standorts darstellt. Durch die Ausbildung eines Attikas im siebten Geschoss passt sich die Bebauung in der Höhe den umliegenden Gebäuden

Supplement to Icons of Structuralism

Reference object
The Burgerweeshuis (1960), which is located in the south of Amsterdam, was designed by Aldo van Eyck. At the time, the building was designed as an orphanage to provide a home for over 100 children. Van Eyck created an analogy between the house and the city by creating a small world within a large house and a large world within a small house. The design combined the advantages of a centralised structure with decentralised pavilions of different sizes, creating a continuous, openwork volume. Van Eyck was part of CIAM and so the building was very much influenced by his structuralist thinking. Clear clusters and repetitions can be recognised in the floor plan and the structuralist‘s idea of the building for different uses can be seen in today‘s building. Today, the building houses an experimental company, which was very important for the preservation of the existing building.
Task
In the 5th design semester, one of three chosen buildings in the Netherlands, one of the great protagonists of structuralism, is to be extended and assigned to the students. The required spatial programme is based on the principles of the Arabian souk, the place in the Arabian city where production, sales and gatherings collide in high density. Derived from the cellular structures of structuralism and based on the corresponding architectures, we were to deal with linear masonry wall constructions. In the course of discussions about building as climate-neutrally as possible, the constructive realisation of this thematic requirement should be based on unfired and loadbearing earth bricks. For all other constructions, such as ceilings or façade cladding, sawn timber elements with a maximum length of five meters can be used.



Concept
The extension to the Burgerweeshuis in the south of Amsterdam houses craft shops (souk), which are divided into three different sizes of S, M and L modules. The L-modules are each two-storey, as is the restaurant. The building is designed to create a connection between the street space, the souk inside and the existing building. This is achieved through an access route that leads to a centre with a restaurant and a forum. Within this development, so-called courtyard spaces are created, which serve as areas for visitors to linger and are surrounded by shops in which the production processes are visible. Each of these courtyard spaces is assigned to an outdoor area that enables the transition to the existing building without compromising the functionality of the existing building. The access is equipped with skylights that make the space appear like a kind of outdoor area and at the same time direct light into the shops. The construction is a mixture of adobe walls and sawn timber elements as well as sawn timber ceilings. The ceiling construction is designed as a lever beam structure to span the minimum spans of the 3.36 m grid.

Thrifty generosity Housing Biel (Switzerland)

Task
The development of the 4th semester design work was rather unconventional, from the small to the large. At the beginning, each group of two was assigned a reference property from different eras. On the one hand, the selected references symbolise the overarching theme of „economical generosity“ and, on the other, each individual reference has its own living DNA, a special living moment and a special living environment. Based on this reference object, a residential unit was first developed, which was inscribed in a fictitious row of buildings. This so-called „ideal flat“ in turn serves as the starting point for the development of the entire residential complex. Later, a building site had to be selected within the city of Biel (Switzerland) that corresponded to the building.
Reference object
The Justus van Effen complex (1919) by Michiel Brinkman is an important example of social housing in the Netherlands. Brinkman responded to the housing shortage after the First World War by designing 246 housing units that make efficient use of space and are aesthetically pleasing. The complex consists of six interconnected residential buildings around a central courtyard. Each building has four storeys in a simple, functional style with brick and concrete façades divided by bands. Large windows provide plenty of light and air. A special feature of the Justus van Effen complex is its openplan design. Instead of closed corridors and stairwells, each block of flats has an open staircase and gallery, giving the residents a feeling of space and freedom.

The residential complex blends into the rather quiet neighbourhood in the eastern part of Biel, where it stands on the old wireworks site. The building is a contemporary interpretation of the Justus van Effen complex. Similar to its predecessor, the complex consists of an inner courtyard that serves as a communal space and invites people to linger. The rear of the building offers residents a private view of green spaces or bodies of water. The flats are accessible either via direct access from the ground floor or via a pergola.
Building organisation
The residential complex offers a mixture of different flat types and sizes. The two elongated building blocks consist of a repeating arrangement of flats. On the ground floor of such a section, there is a staircase, a studio flat and two double-storey flats. In the upper arcade storey, four double-storey flats (ideal flat) are mirrored in the same section. Two staircases are positioned between each of the two sections, providing access to the single storey flats on the 4th floor.
Flat theme
The flats are inspired by the ideal flat, which creates a feeling of spaciousness in a rather economical flat through views to the outside. The two-storey flats are designed in such a way that the more social spaces on the ground floor or on the pergola level have a connection to the inner courtyard through generous window fronts and an outdoor area, while the second floor offers more private, enclosed spaces with a retreat area.

Project information
Schützenwiese - popularly known as „Schützi“ - has been home to FC Winterthur since 1896. For the so called beer curve, the north stand is to be planned as the second new building after the counter stand and will offer the loyal fans a roof over their heads.
The new north stand will replace the current standing ramp, on which a number of temporary catering stands and the manually operated scoreboard are stationed.

Reference object
The Stadio Artemio Franchi (1933), located in Florence, was designed by Pierluigi Nervi. His intention was to realise an elegant roof geometry that would eliminate the need for costly tensile foundations, which are unavoidable with cantilevered roofs, and make efficient use of reinforced concrete. The roof consists of a thin reinforced concrete shell that extends continuously between curved concrete cantilever beams. The area of the roof structure between the outer and inner supports is referred to as the „rear wall“ and the part between the inner support and the roof peak as the „cantilever“.

The new grandstand stands out from the existing two grandstands and continues the disparity in appearance with a prefabricated concrete structure. It is divided into three parts. Firstly, the „beer curve“ in the centre with standing room, to the east the beer catering area and plateau for socialising and maintaining existing traditions and finally, to the west, the „syrup curve“ with seats for the younger generation. The volume connects the main grandstand with the new grandstand in the east by forming a corner situation. A gateway is created between the north stand and the main stand. The complex is almost closed by the 3 independent buildings, which nevertheless harmonise with each other. The space under the grandstand provides room for the catering stands and sanitary facilities. The concept of the west stand is thus taken up and continued to create a unity. The solid prefabricated concrete structure stands for a stable and loyal football club, which stands out due to its simplicity and structure.

Task
„Built topography“ is the topic of the 3rd semester, which is superimposed on the design task „Living in Genoa“. The task comprises the urban planning design in a team of two, of an ensemble with the associated urban space. Suitable building types with the corresponding flats are to be developed. The aim is to further develop the city and the urban space. With an awareness of the „genius loci“, a specific piece of city is to be designed whose residential qualities are developed from the cultural cosmos of Genoa. In addition, the coordination of open spaces and circulation areas in terms of their location, proportions and their function as a mediator between the urban space and the flat is a decisive parameter for urbanity.
Reference object
Each group of two students was allocated a reference object to serve as a starting point for the design. We were assigned the residential and commercial building on Via Corso Italia (1961) in Milan by Luigi Caccia Dominioni. We had to interpret this differently due to the topography in Genoa. It helped us to look for a building site and to react to a square as he does. We also adopted the idea of the passages Dominioni used in his project, that make new routes possible. We also drew inspiration from Dominioni for various façade elements like windows or plinths and the floor plans customised, angled, etc..




Concept and routing
With the two buildings, we are trying to respond to these two squares by framing them. In addition, we have upgraded the existing alleyway that connects the two squares by also providing public uses in this street space, so that the two squares merge and the vitality of the city is not interrupted as it is today. Our project also opens up further routing options thanks to the many passages. You can go from any square to any street and thus take some shortcuts by walking through the building. The passages and the inner courtyard are therefore public spaces. The passage also serves as a transition from public to private space. Our concept is that there is an entrance to the stairwell at each passageway. The project is located in the centre of the old town, one of the busiest areas in Genoa. It is characterised by tall buildings and narrow alleyways. Squares are created by widening the street space. One of these is the Piazza delle Erbe, where our project is located. Just further up is the Giardini Luzzati, a cultural square and centre of nightlife.

Concept
The Kaistool was designed and finally built in the minor subject Visualisation in the 3rd/4th semester. I was inspired by travelling to Finland and Japan, where I tried to merge the simplicity of the designs of the two cultures. The chair consists of two base elements, which are connected to the semi-circular backrest and the seat. The chair should invite you to stay for a longer time but still be usable for everyday situations.

Project description:
New university of applied sciences building with 12 upper floors, three basement floors, research, teaching, laboratory, administration, catering, sports for five faculties with 4,000 students and 800 employees. In the Basel city region, the important public functions set vertical accents more strongly than elsewhere, including the new cubic FHNW building. In front of it are a prestigious square and a park as a reception area for arrivals and a recreation zone for the school and community. With a height of more than 60 metres, the new building of the university of applied sciences is in fact a high-rise, but as a building type it is a courtyard house. The reception and assembly hall, canteen and cafeteria are grouped around the atrium on the entrance floor, while lecture theatres and seminar rooms for all universities are located on the first and first floors. Six staircases crisscrossing the atrium over three storeys lead to the Pianonobile, an openplan library floor, where space and transparency open up. A centre rider, borrowed from the bridge construction, stretches across the library floor, with two atriums on either side rising upwards over a further nine storeys. The twelfth floor offers, among other things, a lounge with a magnificent view and the opportunity to retreat to the hidden roof garden.

Die zwöl e Etage bietet unter anderem eine Lounge mit grandiosem Weitblick und die Möglichkeit für einen Rückzug auf dem versteckten Dachgarten.

Project description:
The Hobelwerk site of the building cooperative „mehr als wohnen“ is located at Oberwinterthur railway station, just a few minutes from Winterthur city centre, but in the immediate vicinity of green spaces and recreational areas. Five new building volumes are grouped around the heart of the old factory site, a central, covered transshipment area with the old planing mill hall, forming a new, diverse neighbourhood. In the first stage, 76 flats, 6 separate rooms and approx. 1465 m2 of commercial space are planned for building plots A and B. A broad mix of flats corresponds to both tried-and-tested and new forms of cohabitation. There are plans for one-room studios, offers for two-person households and family flats through to large shared flats. The ground floor houses public areas such as commercial and communal spaces, a co-working space and, in the south wing, a daycare centre with bright rooms and spacious outdoor play areas.

Project description:
The new residential development on the Eggbühl site encloses a spacious inner courtyard with the existing commercial buildings. This is connected to a park-like green space via a wide gap, which borders the development to the north and east and represents an attractive potential of the site. By creating a parapet on the seventh floor, the height of the development matches that of the surrounding buildings. The angled façades in the inner courtyard with cantilevered balconies create a cosy atmosphere and allow views into the distance. The entire complex is accessed from Eggbühlstrasse.
The flats are entered via a central entrance hall, which opens generously to the kitchen and living room on both sides and allows people to live through from the courtyard to the park or Eggbühlstrasse. It also provides access to the ancillary rooms and bedrooms and accommodates cloakrooms and wall cupboards. Almost all flats have two outdoor areas. On the top two floors, maisonettes complement the range of flats and provide a balanced mix of 2.5 to 5.5-room flats. The ground floor flats are designed as loft-like studio flats.
